Worth considering if Lebron signs in the West. Then the Blazers will be a first round exit at best next couple of years. Philadelphia (and maybe Cleveland) are possibly interested in CJ and may overpay. The Salary Cap really hurts improvement, and other than Zack Collins (and maybe Nurkic and Swanigan) improvement isn’t going to happen. Of course, they can’t sign all of their Restricted Free Agents wihout going into full restriction on the Salary Cap. Turner and Leonard (and maybe Harkless too) no one wants. As distasteful as it seems, unless a shocking trade occurs, the Blazers are one of those average teams – entertaining, but going nowhere.

You got it all wrong if you give up on C.J. McCollum. No incoming assets are worth the price of an exchange.

Blow them up, keep them the same it doesn’t matter they’re not a threat for the elite teams in the west.

Blow it completely up and trade every one away now while they still have some value and you may get some decent return back. Dame,C.J,Nurkic and Collins are your main assets besides future picks which they will need for later.

    or

Mortgage the future and trade everyone except C.J and Dame clear as much cap as possible and tell  them to recruit a team that they believe will contend…For example Clear some space get D.J, Some how get a decent Sf and PF either via trade or Free agency(via recruitment) and round out the bench with solid win now Vets.

For the 76ers. They would likely want James or Durant or George or hope for Fultz to pan out before CJ.

Between Lilliard and Mccollum the guy you trade is Lilliard. Portland has seen what Lilliard can be when given 100% room to operate and full control of the franchise and as great as he was for sure top 15 player in the NBA it wasnt good enough. Maybe Mccollum can offer more maybe not but its already been proven your not competing with Lilliard.

The situation reminds me a bit of the Ellis/Curry situation years ago. not saying trading Lilliard will get Portland 3 championships but defenitely seems like the right step to make in attempts to improve.

Except Lillard is more like Curry than he is Ellis. Trading Lillard would mean they would need a big point guard to come back in the trade as McCollum isn’t a point guard. He mostly passes when he needs bailing out. Portland’s back court needs more size and to me that means the trade piece would be the undersized 2guard CJ.

I believe in McCollum taking over the pg position, he worth the chance, I see some Kyrie Irving in him…
