Am I the only one that didn’t know you could overturn a block charge call last two minutes? I watch a decent amount of Nba and never really noticed it happen.

I think he was sliding while Durant was in the air but his body was in position, but those calls are usually 50/50 and so hard to call. On slow mo replay it’s pretty easy to pick out any movement on one of these calls. Really stupid thing to have this one judgement call that can be reviewed. Why not reviews when Lebron is smacked on the forearm and loses the ball or when a player steps out and it’s not called initially. I definitely don’t want more replay, this rule should be removed immediately instead.

Van Gundy said on air that it doesn’t matter if you’re moving, as long as you’re in legal guarding position—whatever that means (seems hard to quantify).

I just don’t get how you reverse that call, but maybe that’s just me.

On a side note, LeBron went 51-8-8 and the Cavs still lost. I don’t know how they win one game in this series unless Bron averages 50.

There’s so much to what happened there I don’t even know where to start. On one hand on the replay, it looked like a block since he was turning and sliding a little while KD was still in the air, but on the other hand they call that same play a charge like 80% of the time. And then with the replay, I don’t see how any of them could have had any doubt that he was out of the restricted area. I think they only did it because KD was telling them to review it and literally anytime I’ve ever seen a star tell the refs to review something, they do it. I just don’t see how you can supposedly be one of the best refs in the world and not be able to tell that Lebron was a full step and a half above the circle. The baseline ref (think it was Brothers but I can’t remember) had a primetime view of the play and if he couldn’t tell, what was he looking at? Again by the rules it was probably a block, although I’m not really sure what constitutes as “legal guarding position” because it seems like every year the refs change the way they call things, but I just think that review should have never ever happened. That cost them the game way before JR ever did

Warriors are the new Lakers, need to beat the refs also when you play them!

My issue is the narrative that they "reversed the call". They didn’t "reverse"anything. Two separate refs came to two separate conclusions, went to the monitors and called a block (which was the right call). If it had been called a charge and the replay supported it there’d be no bitching. We as fans should be glad that the replay served it’s intended use and we got the right call.

replay show no clear evidence Lebron didn’t get there in time, refs also should never went to the replay as it was clear Lebron was well outside the circle, they broke the rules, were not honest in their action and we as fans can’t accept that…

They have to make a call before going to replay. The call was a charge. They supposedly went to replay to determine whether or not LBJ was in the circle. Once they review to determine if he was in the circle they can review the entire play.

Charge/block calls are somewhat subjective and in replay my guess would be more often than not, if they were reviewed, most would be called blocking fouls because of movement that will surely be shown by the defensive player trying to get into position. One might compare it to holding in the NFL, they say holding occurs on every play, but obviously they don’t always call it.

More eyes better calls but also more calls. The extra referee should only follow where the ball goes

who wins and loses this directly affects the draft order, that’s the only reason.

Three years seems like an awfully long time to be completely new to the forum.

You’re the one who is rigidly sticking to rules and boundaries. You really want to act like you’re some rebel badass?

(one for general NBA stuff and one for the NBA draft) for a reason. If there is no reason for that, then why did the creator(s) of this website decide to have a seperate forum just for the NBA draft?

I’m a rebel because I pointed out the fact that this thread is in the wrong forum? Strong logic lmao!

It’s not hard at all to notice the forums and decide whether to post in one or the other. Don’t be lazy.
