After the 5 point breakout game, many beleeived Jennings could fall down two different paths: the Steve Nash prototype or the Allen Iverson role. After watching his last 55 games, it has been extremely disapointing to see that he (lets be honest) really doesnt care if he makes his team better through his playing. Yes, here and there he will dish off assists(6.3 per game), but most of the passes he gives are just to make himself look better.

Yesterday at the All Star game, it was embarasing how obvious he wanted to shoot the ball and try flashy passes(even though he airballed many of these passes). I once was a huge Bjennings fan, but now I can see a future poor man’s AI.

It’s an exhibition game that they won anyways to why not be flashy. He is a better passer than ai, you can’t expect a rookie to do everything right.

Yes, it was a rookie game, but I have been watching him do this for the last 5 games also. Also, AI was always an underrated passer.

????…youre making no sesne..no hes not killing like before but he passes to get assist not to make his self look better and watching “the last 5 games” is no way to determine how good someone is for a half a season…and did you even watch the all star game?..even thought it is just a allstar game you act like he did noting..he had 20 something with 4reb 4st 6 or 7 ast and shot over 50%. and hes getting the bucks wins..they are fighting for the last playoff spot without micheal redd. im not sure you know alot about allstar games buty players do flashy passes and shoot the ball…come on now

Jennings still had the most assist last night dude is a beast and one of my favorite players dont compare him to steve nash or Iverson let him be the first brandon jennings dude he’s only 20 and look at the bucks he have to shoot alot in that system and he lead rookies in assist and he averages more assist than derrick rose and he averages about 2 points less and they average about the same in rebounding so wait down the line to judge him if he doing this now how bright is his future

I’ve never been as high on Jennings as some people on here have been… I didn’t jump on that bandwagon when he scored 55. A lot of people jumped up and started saying he’d be better than Rose by the end of the season. Said he was better than Westbrook. Said he was a top ten point guard right now. I said that once teams had enough game film on him to stop him, he’d struggle… Which is exactly what happened. I said wait until we get to about the mid-point of the season.

Everybody was comparing him to AI, but I’ve never seen it. AI was so much better off the dribble. He didn’t need a screen and roll. He’d break you down and then finish in traffic OR even dunk on you. Jennings is a great athlete, but not the caliber of athlete or scorer that AI was. I’ve never really seen Jennings break anybody down off the dribble. He uses the pick and roll 99% of the time to get free. That’s coo, but I just don’t see that Iverson break you down ability. I see Nicky V when I look at Jennings.

Jennings has great upside, but I like Curry as the better point guard right now.

he’s not ai..not sure why people think that. he can score though and isw a better pg then ai but that has to do with ai being a better scorer. alot of people are getting on him because of his shooting percentage but the funny thing is thats the only thing they can really get on him about. hes leading a bad team ( who is worst then the bulls, okc,gs ) talent wise close to a playoff spot while also being 11th in ast ( higher then every freshman or soph not named westbrook)…most people on here are all about scoring but as a pg you should be drafted on ast first and points second which is why zeke magic and stockton are so prasied. yea they can score but there passing and getting others the ball in scoring position is what they are more known for. ive seen him break down plenty off the dribble . guess it depends what you have seen and what you havent.. thing is he’s a rookie and a very good one. the best way to know how good is to compare his numbers and team success to other past rookies

Are you sure he’s a better point guard than Iverson was? Iverson’s strength was scoring, but he was a dynamic playmaker. He averaged almost 8 assists his rookie season when he played primarily at the point.

I think Jennings will be a very good point guard… I just don’t think he’ll be in that elite group. I think he’ll be a notch below them, which is still good.

Brandon Jennings is one of those players that truly tries to do the spectacular during All-Star Games. I remember him doing much of the same thing he did last night in the McDonalds All-American game, where he was trying so hard to beat the assists record that it ended up being embarrassing. He is definitely a showman, and instead of getting his team in the flow of the game, he dominated the ball and took it upon himself to try and be spectacular. It looked awkward. However, having seen Brandon play this year, I have to say that it is truly just something he does in exhibition contests like the All-Star game. He has a very bright future, and even when I saw him play in the McDonalds game, and of course seeing him play last night, you have to be impressed with what he brings to the table. His combination of speed and athleticism and feel for the game are going to make him a very special player. Also, Evans is a beast and just is a monster to guard, but the MVP should have gone to DeJuan Blair. That guys is just a ball hawk. He is such a fun player to watch, and honestly looks like he could be a star in the league. Everyone knew he was a steal, but wow, his abilities as that Charles Barkley type boarding 4, combined with his skill set and wing span could make him an All-Star caliber player for quite a while. As long as he stays healthy and in shape, he beasted in those big guys on the Soph team, like, throwing Thabeet over his back beasted.
