The8thDeadlySinParticipantBucks get:
Anthony Randolph
Rights to Ricky Rubio
#2 Pick in this DraftTimberwolves get:
Brandon Jennings
#10 Pick in this DraftReason why for the Bucks:
The Bucks have said that they are willing to part with Jennings because of lack of production this season. Also, they have really struggled to find a PF to play with Andrew Bogut. With Randolph, they get a very tall, athletic player who is in need of some pushing to become a great player. Then, with this second pick, they can go with Kanter, Williams, Knight or whomever they want.. OR they could use it to trade for a vetran PG.. Then there is Rubio, who will probably always be a gost in the league; something that is always there but you never see… He is just insurance for the team if he ever comes..
Reason for the Wolves:
The Timberwolves dont need the better players in this draft.. They really Like Darko at the C spot for, some reason, and they have the SF and PF spots on lock for a while.. So Williams serves them no good.. Jennings gives them a young, explosive PG who has been to the playoffs and knows how to win.. In the right situation, he could be an All-Star. With that #10 pick, it puts the Wolves in line to get another SG, like Klay Thompson, or a very nice backup at the PF/SF spot, like Marcus Morris. In a draft without much star power, the top picks arent much use to a team with nice young players at most spots..
Could this go down??

Scottoant93ParticipantI guess it could work,but 2 things
1. If Rubio doesn’t like T-wolves why would he like the bucks considering his camp says they want him in a large market such as NY,LA. This is from thier point of view, there is nothing wrong with either of those locations to me.
2.One of the things that is wrong with the bucks is limited options, Randolph may help but from what I hear Rubio is a horrible shooter, which is one the complaints against Jennings.

Kinguy11ParticipantI don’t think this trade will happen, but if I was the Bucks I’d agree to it in a second.
By the way have you check the NBA trade machine to see if the salary cap will allow it?

kotyParticipantI don’t think this would happen. No foreign player wants to play in a market like Milwaukee. Yi refused to play there and Enes Kanter has workouts set up with most teams in the top ten, but will not be working out for the Bucks because of their market. No way Rubio would want to go to Milwaukee

Dr. A-FodParticipantI think that from the T-wolves standpoint this would be a great option and something they should look in to. But, Im not sure if the salaries match up and if the Bucks would be willing to wait for Rubio (I personally don’t think he’ll ever come over) and take on his buy-out.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantBut see, it isnt Rubio’s choice… His rights could be used to make a trade or they could just hold on to them.. Not matter what he says, the money is going to get to him sooner or later.. And, he was just a throw in to this trade.. The big part of it is really that #2 pick and Ant… We will probably never see Rubio in an NBA uniform. Well unless he gets trade to the Knicks or Lakers… Also, the appeal of the Bucks would be starting from day 1… Also, Rubio is more of a Scott Skiles type PG because of his defense and pass first game.. Jennings is a chucker and looks to score before he passes…
Also, the trade works money wise…

SwatLakeCityParticipantI like it, but I don’t think the Wolves would go for Klay Thompson with that 10th pick. Last year they were very high on Evan Turner. They thought he was the perfect SG for the triangle offense (a suspicion which has yet to be proved right or wrong) and they thought he would bring them the experience and poise he obtained after his 4 years of polishing at Ohio State. Of course that never happened because he went 2 to the Sixers when the Wolves had the 4th and had to settle for Wesley Johnson. We all know he is more of a 3 than he is a two. Right now the Wolves have Johnson playing the 2 and it hasn’t proved bad for them but I think they would gladly move him to the backup 3 if they can find that 2 guard that is perfect for the triangle offense. Alec Burks is the closest SG that fits the description of Evan Turner last year. He can pass like him, his outside shooting is very similar to his, he is not fiery or bad-tempered (like Thompson might be) and would not demand the ball or force it away from the true star’s of this young team (Love and Beasley.
The Bucks would probably go for Derrick Williams unless they aren’t convinced that Randolph can be the 4 that they need to pair with Jennings in which case they would go for Enes Kanter. Derrick Williams would give the Bucks an imposing frontline that can bang down low and would start hitting outside as well. They would be a force once again in the East. The only problem is they would lose Brandon Jennings who added so much to this team because of his presence as a pure PG, but maybe Rubio is more than we think he is. Maybe he is the next Steve Nash (although I doubt it)
Ultimately, though I don’t think the Wolves would accept. Remember who their GM is. He loves Rubio. He thinks he will save the Wolves. Fans and critics may not agree but in the end they are not the voice that decides everything. The players are, by the way they play the game. But the people who believe in them also go along way. (I do not think that Rubio will be that good but I do recognize who Kahn is and what he thinks even though more often his thoughts may seem a little strange.) Hopefully Kahn can redeem himself, but in the end we shall see.

Dr. A-FodParticipantWell since the salaries work out I would jump at this offer if I’m the T-wolves.

steviechillzParticipanti know this is immature, but who else thought this thread was gonna be dirtyyy

The8thDeadlySinParticipantI figured every T-Wolves fan would love this however, the "backfire" chances are very high for the Wolves. Egos like Jennings and Beasley tend to be destructive over a period of time.. Think Melo/AI…
The risk is also very high for the Bucks but they could use it as trade bait.. Rubio AND the #2 pick could bring in alot of offers.. Throw in a guy Cory (Maximus) Maggette or John Salmons and teams would be all over that..

Scottoant93ParticipantTrue, I honestly hope Rubio comes over next season, I really want to see how he does, weather worth all the hype or not, I have personally never seen him play, ive seen highlights but anyone could look good in those. I actaully skimed your trade idea and failed to notice the #2 and #10 pick involved. I though it was Randolph and Rubio for jennings straight up
@stevie no i didnt think it was going to be dirty, I already know people would make fun of that thats why I always put jennings instead of BJ haha

Scottoant93ParticipantExactly that why I spell his name out, I put the haha at the end so it sounded less serious or mad, since when I actually write somethin people always tell me chill out even though my comments weren’t directed that way

EuroBallParticipantThis is his time to come over, the draft is so weak and he got a solid chance to win rookie of the year. Rubio will do good in the league I do see the comparison of J Kidd. Both 6’4, excellent ball handler, tremendous defenders, worked on the three ball and High IQ for the game.

TyroberParticipantWhy would the would invest a #2 pick and Ricky Rubio AND Anthony Randolph who has shown flashes that he doe have some talelent for Brandon Jennings and the #10th pick in a very weak draft. No way minnesota does it
0 - Posted on: Wed, 05/25/2011 - 12:24pm #535863
taylor26ParticipantYeah no way the Twolves do this Rubio and 2# holds alot more value than Jennings and #10. And don’t even think about throwing in the HUGE contracts of Salmons and Regrette.
