I was wondering what everyone thinks of Chris “Birdman” Anderson’s season. He came out and played a big role in Denver’s post defense and averaged the second most blocks per game in the league. I think he will stay in denver but if not what teams would he be a good fit for? Is there any potential draft picks that could become a similar player?

There’s a 50/50 chance of him staying and leaving. But he had an impreesive season, he was more productive than he has been in the past and he plays with the same energy. Just had so keep his nose clean (no pun intended)

Anderson is my new favorite role player in the league. He defends, Isn’t afraid to contest a strong dunk attempt like most other bigs, can shoot free throws decent 70% he’s just a great player to come off the bench. I think in some situations he’d be a good starter at the 4. He’s going to make some bucks this offseason because he’s a FA this guy can help a LOT of teams. BTW Von Wafer has really turned into a great offensive threat in limited minutes.

Anderson is a solid player and excellent hustle player who excels at weak side blocks much like Marcus Camby did for the Nuggets last season. I’m not sure if he’ll stay in Denver, but he’ll probably sign somewhere for the mid-level exception. There is a market out there for him. Ironically, he did just about the same amount of dirty work and hustle plays his first stint in Denver, but it mostly went unrecognized. I also commend him for overcoming his shortcomings away from the court, accepting his punishment and coming back to the game with a great attitude and enthusiasm. He was the first D-League player promoted to the NBA and who makes the NBA from Blinn College?!

D Hamp….the greatest mind in basketball. Next to Hubie Brown anyway.

I’m dying to see him in a starting role next year. Can you say 5 blocks per game minimum? This guy is an absolute nightmare to be guarded by and I only expect him to get better over the years. He alone brought me back from 6th place to cash in my league despite losing Al Jefferson and Kevin Garnett. You can’t even consider him a sleeper next year because of what he’s done.

although ima a huge kobe fan im loving watching the birdman in the playoffs. this guy is maybe the best role player playing in the playoffs right now.i love his energy and charisma on the court and he always plays extremely hard. but im kinda havin 2nd thoughts about him as a starter. i mean yes the guy is pretty good but i honestly dont know if he will have as big an impact as a starter on a sub par team than the impact he is having as being a role player on a good team

The Cavs need to try to get him if he bolts because he could really help solidify that post in a backup role like Big Ben was suppose to do.

Chris the Bird man Anderson has really improved and showed is talent on the defensive side the ability to affect a player and change a player’s shoot attempt when in the paint. He is also a great offensive rebound and great in put backs. I can see him making some big offers like Ronny Turiaf scored with the Warriors but he is so loved in Denver so to me he could levee for money or can stay it’s a 50/50.

Such a pity the Nuggets arent heading for the finals, Birdman swatting King James layups or rejecting Superman?

I think he’s a fascinating character and a great role player. But what does he have to do with the NBA draft? Doesn’t this thread belong in the NBA forum?

Legend, I couldn’t agree with you more. Chris “The Birdman” Anderson, also known as CAND11 is an absolute beast down low and a true presence in the paint. If there is any NBA player who sits the bench right now and has starter potential, it’s gotta be CAND11. The guy was second in the league in blocked shots PER GAME coming off of the bench. I mean, that is a feat in itself.

As a Denver Nuggets fan, I am really hoping that CAND11 doesn’t leave his nest and fly south to another team. They need to get rid of Kenyon Martin and his loaded contract so that they can free up some cap space and keep the Birdman. I can’t really see him going anywheres else though. CAND11 is just too powerful in my opinion and too prized of a posession to the Nuggets, and George Karl knows it.

I’m sure some idiots are going to mark me down again for stating the obvious, but the Birdman isn’t in the upcoming draft.

We were disussing just how great the Birdman is. I carried it a little bit off topic, but the topic starter did try to ask just who some people in the upcoming NBA Draft could be compared to like CAND11.

I think if that were solely the original post, I would agree. However, more than 90% of the post said the following,

“I was wondering what everyone thinks of Chris “Birdman” Anderson’s season. He came out and played a big role in Denver’s post defense and averaged the second most blocks per game in the league. I think he will stay in denver but if not what teams would he be a good fit for?”

I read the above and that’s why I felt it belongs in another forum.

As for me personally, I think The Birdman a fascinating character and one of the best role players in the league. I’d love to see what others think of him in the NBA forum.
