    has resigned at Texas Tech amid rumors of player mistreatment.  He was hospitalized recently and had taken a leave of absence.  Texas Tech’s best player had recently said that he didn’t want Gillespie to return.  It sounds at though a prting of ways is beneficial to both sides.  Gillespie’s last two coaching stops have been disastrous.  He never returned Kentucky to national prominence and was criticized by the big blue nation and he won one game in the Big 12 during his first year at Texas Tech.  Concerns about hiring Gillespie again should be great.
