KevinDurantRocksParticipantDespite there being no hard evidence that Chris Paul wants to go to New Jeresy and that Carmelo Anthony has yet to be even traded but for PURE SPECULATION lets say Chris Paul Carmelo are over in New Jeresy. We don’t know exactly what players New Jeresy has when it’s all said and done but again PURE SPECULATION. I don’t see Chris coming over until his free agency but again we are making this up. So with the four (some may argue three) power house team’s in the East who is the better team through out the Playoffs
Boston
C: Perkins/ Oneal/ Oneal
Pf: Garnett/ Davis/Harongody
Sf: Pierce/ Daniels
Sg: Allen/West/Bradely
Pg: Rondo/Robinson
New Jeresy (all speculation)
C: Lopez/ Petro
Pf: Murphy/ Smith
Sf: Anthony/Outlaw
Sg: Morrow
Pg: Paul, Farmar
Miami
C: Big Z, Magloire
Pf: Bosh, Haslem
Sf: Lebron James, Jones
Sg: Wade, Miller
Pg: Chalmers, House
Orlando:
C: Howard/Gortat
Pf: Lewis, Anderson Bass
Sf: Pietrus/ Richardson
Sg: Carter, Reddick
Pg: Nelson, Chris Duhon

NYCrealdealParticipantas i look at this mami team more and more i am scared for teams not called lakers or celtics
they have two of the 3 best players in the world
not even NJ’s assumed threesome of melo cp3 and lopez can handle that

mikeyvthedonParticipantI would still take Miami out of all of those teams, I just feel they will be a contender at a high level for at least the next four years if not longer. If Chris Paul does book it to Brooklyn, they will indeed be a better team, but I think they would need some additions to what they have now and that certain players would be more than likely gone (Jordan Farmar). With that being said, I think Paul might still indeed like New York better than New Jersey. New York will have quite a few weapons, and I am sure would be happy to show Raymond Felton the door if they had a chance at landing Chris Paul’s services. It will be interesting to see both teams cap situations by than, but I would not mark down CP3 as the starting PG for the Nets just yet. I see Murphy being a rent-a-player for New Jersey, so they will have to find a replacement at the 4, though they will have cap room to do so. Also, their is the rumor that Paul may indeed sign with Miami, though at this point it would not seem logical with all of the cap issues. Another rumor is that LeBron is trying to keep Chris Paul in the Western Conference so as they could eventually meet in the Finals. So, I can see a number of teams having a shot at Chris Paul, but New York and New Jersey at this point both would seem to be the odds on favorites considering the Carmelo trade goes through. I just do not know which team will be more attractive to Paul by than. New Jersey has some pieces, and of course would have Melo, but they also have significant holes, including that precious 4 spot. Will Brook Lopez indeed be enough down low to convince Chris Paul of their chances at contending? Meanwhile, I think New York has a front court with a ton of upside and they still have a decent cap situation as well. Randolph and Gallinari have major potential, and if they work well with Amare, that looks like a great front court. It is still a ways away, and by next year Chris Paul may indeed put the Hornets in the same situation as Melo is putting the Nuggets barring the lockout, but saying that, I think him going to the Nets does not seem to have a lot of legs at this point.

Mr. 19134ParticipantI kno its all speculation but it wasn’t very creative. Atleast assume the Knicks are going to get Paul because CP3 wants to play with a dominant big man in the same system that made Nash a 2 Time MVP before all else. While Boston this year has the deepest team, and still have one have last spurt in them I really think it’s gonna be closer then people think between them and Miami. Miami is hands down the most dangerous team however this year and for like the next 5 years. The Nets lineup you gave is dangerous too but what happen to Terrence Williams? Williams is a huge part of that team because he is the versatile wing who is a great facilitator and has the chance to become an elite defender making him and Melo a perfect compliment. A Nets lineup of Paul, T-Will, Melo, Murphy, and Lopez can compete with Miami this is why. The Nets would have a huge edge in the two most important positions PG and C. I honestly feel that in a few years if not this year Lopez will be as good or better then Bosh because he is bigger, stronger, and plays Center. Bosh wouldn’t be able to handle Lopez in the post and on defense Bosh would have to settle for jumpers because he isn’t strong enough to get position on the block against Lopez. And the Nets got Outlaw who they would play against Miami because he a great matchup with Bosh. Outlaw is more athletic and longer then Bosh enabling him to be able to guard him both out on the perimeter and in the low post. Williams can matchup up with Wade on defense causing Wade fits with his length and lateral movement. And Anthony and James are always great matchups. That would be an epic 7 games series because they’re two great teams right there.

Mr. 19134ParticipantThe Nets can sign Paul because Murphy is not in the proposed Melo trade, and he is an expiring contract along with I think Humphries and their current cap room give the Nets enough room to sign Paul flat out after they trade for Anthony.
