could have one once everyone is Healthy…
    PG-Brooks
    SG-McGrady (If he is himself)
    SF-Battier
    PF-Scola
C-Yao (If able to play, he’ll decide his treatment soon)

    6th Man- Ariza

Scola is very underrated and he tore up the Lakers and Blazers, two teams with PF’s such as L. Aldridge and Pau Gasol.
Brooks has been solid throughout his career, a real scorer and can finish as well as knock down a shot.
Battier is a defensive stud who can’t be left open
‘Mac is a Top 5 Talent when really really healthy
Yao is arguably the best center, but once again Health
Ariza from what I saw is Athletic with a good shot and a good defender with room to grow.

    Clippers don’t suck.
They have some solid pieces off their bench.
Ricky Davis is pretty good if he wants to be. Jordan can go in and score and rebound for them and Mike Taylor is a solid backup. Novak is a lights out shooter as well…It isn’t like they’re going to get a bunch of minutes anyways.

I am not saying their one of the best lineups in the NBA. But i am saying they have one of the best young lineups and they can make some noise in the West in this coming season.

    PG- Monta Ellis

    SG- Stephen Curry

    SF- Stephen Jackson

    PF- Anthony Randolph

    C- Andris Biedrins

    6th Man- Corey Maggette

Your opinion doesnt matter yo name is gregoden08….
      Portland should have selected Durant

The fact that you think the Mavs starting five is better than the Blazers is an absolute joke.

The Mavs Starting 5 is better than the blazers buddy you must be a true fan to say some sh!+ like that

Lets take the head to head approach

    Jason Kidd – Steve Blake
Jerry Stackhouse- Brandon Roy (Blazers only advantage)
    Josh Howard- Nicolas Batum
    Dirk- LaMarcus Aldridge
Dampier- Przybilla/ Oden( Dampier gives shaq trouble so with saying that he can clearly defend these guys)

The Mavs do have a better starting 5 with Marion and they have the 6th man of the year. Aldridge isn’t as good as Dirk, Blake not even close to Kidd, Howard is better than Batum. People are overrating the Blazers talent yeah they are deep at every position but guys like Oden, Batum, Bayless haven’t done much yet.

What if the Nuggets later on in the year once Lawson gets some experience use this lineup

    Lawson
    Billups
    Anthony
    Kmart
    Nene

Definately they are a lot better than the Lakers lineup with Fisher & Bynum

Problem with the Knicks starting line up of

    Marbury
    Francis
    Jamal Crawford/Q Rich
    Zach Randolph/ David Lee
    Curry

    Sixth man- Nate Robinson

Curry, Randolph, Lee block no shots and played lil to no defense, Francis & Marbury both pg’s it never worked together and Francis was starting to lose it after his 1st year in Orlando. Qrich has been a mess ever since he left the Suns, once again Nash proved why he won those MVP’s. I like Crawford caz he wasn’t selfish could break down anyone off the dribble.

The question about who has the better starting lineup between Dallas and Portland highlights the fact that the NBA still runs a TEAM game, even if most of the attention goes to the stars.

Dallas is clearly more talented and is a much better team on paper. That said, Portland was the 3rd seed this year because their parts fit better together than the Mavs’. the team is more than just the sum of its parts.

I will also say that the Blazers are deeper in roster spots 5-12 than the Mavs, though Dirk, Josh, Jet, Kidd (1-4) are much more talented than the Blazers’ 1-4. That doesn’t really matter though because if the game is close the advantage goes to the Blazers because they’ve got the best player on either team (BRoy)… and that’s not taking anything away from Dirk because he is also amazing, BRoy is just dominant, especially in the 4th.

    On Paper: Dallas. Reality: Portland.

The Wizards have a pretty nice 5 now after the trade, IF THEY STAY HEALTHY… and a solid core of young players

    Pg – G.Arenas
    Sg – R.Foye
    Sf – C.Butler
    Pf – A.Jamison
    C – Haywood

sixth man – Nick Young/Mike Miller

You gave Dirk credit but not enough

You really think Roy is better than Dirk?

    Delete yo account!!!!!

Dirk is a former MVP and creates much more match-up problems with his abiltiy to handle the rock, can see over most defenders at the PF position being a legit 7 footer and all…Not to mention he can shoot it lights out anywhere on the floor

I think this year unless Portland does something Dallas has the edge but last year Portland was a match up night mare because they have a solid starting 5 and have like 3 players off the bench that could start for a lot of things. Outlaw and Fernadez could start for most teams. Pryzbilla is a soild 5 that can rebound set picks and block shots. Bayless should be more key next year but they need a more solid 3 even though Batum is alright it is still young and developing.

Dirk is a FORMER MVP, but so are a lot of people. I think it’s safe to say that BRoy has eclipsed Dirk as he was BY FAR the best player on the 3rd seed in the Western Conference. Granted the team was very deep, BRoy was the leader, the closer, and made all his teammates infinitely better.

If Dirk is better than Roy, why was his team struggling to make the playoffs? Especially when Dallas has Jason Kidd, Jet, AND Josh Howard. Even if you didn’t think that Roy was better last year, you have to at least concede that he’ll be better than Dirk next year.

Like I said, Dirk is an AMAZING basketball player and I’m a huge fan, but I think that BRoy is better.
