R-Dot-13ParticipantNext up.. West SG’s.
Who is the best?1. Kobe Bryant
Obviously, this isnt really a question, its just a statement, everyone knows it. Im not really gonna say too much about it because its unanimous, if anyone questions it, they cant nknow too much about basketball. Clutch, scoring, championships, MVP’s, its Kobe.2. Brandon Roy
Great talent, but he’s not Kobe. A great shooter and scorer, clutch and also very unselfish. Will come in and score over 20 ppg, along with over 5 apg, i like that from my SG. A superstar, a leader or the Blazers who are a possible 2 seed this year. Just keeps getting better and better, and the Blazers keep getting better. Watch as they soon contend for a championship behind Roy, and Aldridge.3. OJ Mayo
Hes already a great scorer, and is still insanely young, has a great future in Memphis with Rudy. Mayo could be an all star this year, and so could Gay. Mayo will likely boost his numbers this year, aand average over 20 ppg. He also has good PG skills, and is a solid passer, although he only averaged 3.1 apg. He had great numbers as a rookie, and they will only get better.4. Manu Ginobili
So difficult to put him here. He has to stay healthy for the next couple seasons because hes 32. But, when he is healthy, you gotta love the guy. He is a great telent when hes healthy, but he cant get injured too much more, or he will slow down a ton. He is still a very talented scorer, and one of the best offensive players in the game. He will contend for a title with the Spurs this year, but they guys gotta stay healthy to keep this spot on the list.5. Kevin Martin
It came down to Martin and Gordon.. who to pick? I even concidered JR Smith at a point, but he needs starter minutes to truly concider him. Well, I gave it to Martin. Another person that needs to stay healthy, but when he is, man he is one of the best scorers in the league. He may be one dimensional, and he has to work on that, but the guy can flat out score. One of those guys that can breakout for 50 at any time, and will probably put up around 25 ppg this year. If he stays healthy, then he is a longshot for the all star game, but if he puts up close to 25 ppg, which is possible on the kings, then he should get in. Eric Gordon is nice, but he isnt top 5 yet, give it 2 years.0 - Posted on: Fri, 08/21/2009 - 7:06am #204048
McWinningParticipantlooks pretty good, i disagree though i woul take Gordan he will be amazing next year.

R-Dot-13ParticipantThanks Bryant24
Birdzilla, Gordon will be good, but I cant argue with a 25 ppg scorer.

McWinningParticipantK-Marts numbers will go down. the reason he scored so much is they literally had noelse who cous score but now they have Evens who will take away a lot of his points.

doubledribblerParticipantI don’t think that Mayo has passed Ginobli or Kevin Martin yet. Honestly, I’m not sure if he’s better than J.R. Smith right now either. Not saying he won’t be, just don’t think he is there yet.

R-Dot-13ParticipantYou think so?
I was debating on the order to put the 3 of them in, but I feel like Mayo at 3 is the place to put him.
Hes already a great scorer, and thats only after 1 year of experience, He should put up around 22 ppg next year.0 - Posted on: Fri, 08/21/2009 - 7:32am #204057
SpencerIsHawesomeEvans will take away some but also give Martin some more opportunities. Keep in mind too that Martin was playing on one leg all last year. His scoring wont drop much, if at all. It will stay around the 23-25 range

xbadgerhustlerParticipantr-dot,
legit question, do canadians really spell concider rather than consider? or is that just u?
I think Manu is WAY better than OJ at this point, just based on savvy alone.
My real question: WHERE IS MONTA ELLIS!? he was downright unstoppable two years ago… and also, are we just saying TMac is a ‘3’? Or just not considering him cuz he’s injured?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 08/21/2009 - 7:43am #204062

RickyRubio9ParticipantThe first two are easy, but OJ Mayo so soon? He can be better then them, but I’d put Manu before him still. Martin just scored because his team is horrible. I know McGrady is injured, but no love at all? Jet is pretty good too and so is Jr Smith. Eric Gordon is going to score better then Mayo in my mind and Jason Richardson can still score with the best of them. Also if Stephen Jackson is a two there is no denying his numbers.

RUDEBOYI AGREE WITH U ABOUT STEPHEN JACKSON..BUT HE’S BETTER SUITED COMING OFF THE BENCH…

R-Dot-13ParticipantIm considering T-Mac a Sf, and no its consider, thanks for letting me know i was making a mistake lol
I considered Monta a PG actually . Stephen Jackson is a SF.0 - Posted on: Fri, 08/21/2009 - 7:51am #204071

RickyRubio9Participantanswered your question. Injuries took him out. Otherwise I think he’d be up in LeBron, Wade, and Kobe’s Class. It would have been a tremendous sight to see T-Mac, Artest, and Yao go against Kobe, Odom, and Gasol. Gives me goosebumps just thinking about it.

RickyRubio9ParticipantI consider Ellis a PG even though they always say he isn’t. As well as Stephen Jackson being a Small Forward, I was just saying is he or is he not. It’s your list though, plus ‘Mac did play small forward a few years, but it’s mainly been a 2 Guard and most people put him as that. Small Forwards List next? 😀

R-Dot-13ParticipantYeah, I’ll do the East and West SF today, and then PF and C after the weekend cause I wont be on the computer much.

NYK2010ParticipantSteve Jax is a SG ever since Maggette been on the Warriors.
Thats why they got rid of Crawford and Bilenilli.0 - Posted on: Sun, 08/23/2009 - 11:23am #204887

OldSkoolBasketballParticipantI’m pretty sure T-Mac is a SF. Everytime he gets voted in the allstar game he starts as a SF.

unaznizedParticipantbut i think jason terry should be mentioned as one of the better SGs in the west. everyone talks about j.r smith coming off the bench, but terry was the leading scorer off the bench last year. he averaged the highest PPG for a sixth man since dana barros. he’s a good shooter and a great defender as well.

quincey hodgesmayo is prob up there because of all around game..offense and defense and prob consistantcy. jr smith is not consistant and he sometimes/most times tries to do his on thing and doesnt always try to play d. his talent is undeniable though.. i would but manu at 3 if healthy but who knows if by the time he is fully he hasnt lost a step of 2 u know. ellis is another who’s defense is pretty suspect

LazarusMunozParticipantEric Gordon will become…Mayo dosent get to the free throw line enough…He went threw a month long stretch towards the end of the year where he shot a pretty poor field goal percentage(he didnt have the scoring consistency as EJ had),and with Zach Randolph on board now he wont get as many touches as he did lasy year…Z Bo loves to hang on the perimeter and hoist away
Gordon will be the number one option on offense this year for the Clips,he’s devolping a post game this year(which he showed to good effect in summer league),and dosent need alot of shots to score alot….Dude took 19 shots to score 41 points last year
Fact is Mayo isnt nearly as versatile as Gordon is on offense….But at this stage Mayo is the better all around player
But dont sleep on Gordon defensivly…he can guard the other teams point guard if need be,he plays lock down perimeter d(his team D could use a little work),and i think he finished third in block shots among all shooting guards behind D Wade and i think Rasul Butler
