canadabasketballisrisingParticipantThese are the players who want to play (if they can). Assuming they all do (Only Powell is likely to advance to the 2nd round and conflict) here is my best possible team. Unfortunately, Canada is missing its 2 best players- Murray and SGA, but they have everyone else (hopefully):
Kyle Alexander F 6’11” Milton, Ontario Fuenlabrada (Spain)
Nickeil Alexander-Walker G 6’6″ Toronto, Ontario New Orleans Pelicans
R.J. Barrett G 6’6″ Mississauga, Ontario New York Knicks
Trae Bell-Haynes G 6’2″ Toronto, Ontario Crailsheim Merlins (Germany)
Anthony Bennett F 6’8″ Toronto, Ontario N/A
Khem Birch C 6’9″ Montreal, Quebec Toronto Raptors
Oshae Brissett F 6’7″ Mississauga, Ontario Indiana Pacers
Dillon Brooks F 6’7″ Mississauga, Ontario Memphis Grizzlies
Brandon Clarke F 6’8″ Vancouver, British Columbia Memphis Grizzlies
Aaron Doornekamp F 6’7″ Napanee, Ontario Tenerife (Spain)
Luguentz Dort G 6’4″ Montreal, Quebec Oklahoma City Thunder
Melvin Ejim F 6’6″ Toronto, Ontario Buducnost VOLI (Montenegro)
Cory Joseph G 6’3″ Toronto, Ontario Detroit Pistons
Trey Lyles F 6’10” Saskatoon, Saskatchewan San Antonio Spurs
Mychal Mulder G 6’3″ Windsor, Ontario Golden State Warriors
Andrew Nicholson F 6’9″ Mississauga, Ontario Fujian Sturgeons (China)
Andrew Nembhard G 6’5″ Aurora, Ontario Gonzaga Bulldogs (NCAA)
Kelly Olynyk F 7’0″ Kamloops, British Columbia Houston Rockets
Dwight Powell F 6’11” Toronto, Ontario Dallas Mavericks
Tristan Thompson C 6’10” Brampton, Ontario Boston Celtics
Andrew Wiggins F 6’7″ Vaughan, Ontario Golden State WarriorsRoster
Thompson/ Birch
Olynik/ Clarke/ Lyles
Brooks/ Brissett/
Wiggins/ Barrett/ Dort
Joseph/ NAW– I want to reward Ejim for his loyalty, but Brissett has been really good- and we need everything to beat turkey/ Greece with our two best players opting out. Turkey almost beat Tatum/ middelton/ kemba/ brown etc.
-Mychal Mulder (a needed shooter) is the only other hard cut. I don’t see anyone I listed worth losing for mulder.
-Birch gets it over Powell due to program loyalty- its a wash with all nba bigs except olynik.Opinions? If you suggest someone you need to say who they replace.

NorrinRaddParticipantLooks good to me, you really did your homework there… team Canada looks like it will be a tough squad. They wouldn’t make the cut yet, but Joshua Primo might make your list someday and so might Benedict Marthurin.

canadabasketballisrisingParticipantyes hopefully; best player coming out in next few years is probably going to be elijah fisher. The only team I see beating Canada is turkey or greece if they have giannis.

WetalkinboutpracticeParticipantWhere’s Anthony Bennett been holed up? This is his chance at redemption.

OhCanada-ParticipantWe should be getting the final roster soon. Its been cut down to 19 and some of the bigger names have opted out such as Birch, Brooks, Olynyk, Brissett and Thompson. I hope Charles Bediako gets a look and some playing time on this team he’s a sleeper lottery pick for next years draft. Theres also 7’4 bigman Zach Edey.
