Who will end up the best player from the last 4 draft classes?

    2006

    My Pick: Roy
He is already a superstar, and right now is pretty far ahead of the pack. There are others that do have all star potential though.

    2007

    My Pick: Durant
Tons of candidates, but the clear winner has to be KD. Could be the best scorer in the league already.

    2008

    My Pick: Westbrook

It is very early to tell who will be the best from this draft, but Im going with Westbrook.
He is in a great situation for the future in OKC, he is very athletic, and a great defender. He can score pretty well, and if he improves a jumper he should be very good. He will have high assist numbers playing beside KD.

    2009

    My Pick: Jennings/Beaubois
For me, Griffin wasnt an option really, this came down to 2 point guards, Jennings and, not Flynn, Rubio, or Evans. Not even Teague, Maynor or Lawson. It was Rodrigue Beaubois. He had a great showing in summer league, and has great potential. As of now, he looks like Rondo with a better jumpshot. And we all say how good Rondo could be with a jumper, so just imagine how good this guy could be. Of course this is all if he reaches his full potential. As for Jennings, he has great playmaking ability, and is very creative. He is very athletic, and a solid jumper, which looks like it can be improved. He looks like he could be great.

2006- Brandon Roy ( He is a top 10 player right now)
2007-Kevin Durant ( Durant is a top 7 guy right now)
    2008-Tie Anthony Randolph/Derrick Rose/Kevin Love
    2009- Tyreke Evans

Also, You are super high on Roddy B. He is not that good man, he is a good backup at best.

Beabois…….You serious. I know the kids good i even told everyone don’t be suprised if he taken 1st round but he playing behind kidd and barea.

also Westbrook wasn’t the best from that draft their was a guy named Derick rose, and another fella by the name of Oj Mayo……I even think Lopez was debatably better then him

    Im saying its possible..
Beaubois may or may not reach his full potential.
Right now, he has potential that could make him a great PG in this league.
IMO Jennings will likely be the best from the draft.

    06
Rudy Gay- I think all that untapped potential will finally break loose this year.Obviously Roy is the unanimous choice now, but I have faith in Gay especially from what Ive been hearing about what he’s been doing at the USA camp.

    07
    Kevin Durant- Clearcut winner.

    08
    Rose- Fairly easily

    09
    Stumped
Potentially- Derozan, Evans, Rubio, Jennings, and Griffin

    I agree with Birdman

    06′ Roy
    07’Durant
08’Rose, but i give Mayo and Wesbrooke a close second
09’Griffin, i saw this guy play a lot in college and he is a beast, and a gym rat, unless injuries cut him down, he’ll be at the top of this class

Derrick Rose will not be taken in the top 2 if he isn’t guaranteed to be that good. It is rare for a PG to be that elite at such a young age… Westbrook is a terrific point guard who is still learning to be the focal point general on a very young team… But Derrick Rose hands down would soar higher than him…

As for the rest, Beaubois???? Huh? I think Tyreke can cream him one on one… 2009 is basically Blake’s draft… No question…

First off, I have no reason to be biased on DRose. He beat my Bruins in the final four and I can’t stand Memphis. However, I might be one of his biggest supporters on here after watching what he did last year. His explosiveness around the basket, his abilty to change directions and finish strong is amazing. He is like a Lebron of PG’s. I think he will be entering the convo with Paul and Williams next year, and possibly pass them in a few years.

Now you’re talking… I am an avid fan of Derrick Rose… I can’t see any more players who let “his game do the talking” better than him… All his explosiveness, speed and the ability to take contact like sponge are some of the best qualities that had me thinking of him as an elite PG in years to come… A little more arsenal on his offense and more work on defense will make him a household name in the NBA today…

    2006: Roy
In the near future, I see him as the best shooting guard in the league. He really doesn’t have any serious weaknesses, and he has a great attitude.

    2007: Durant
This guy could be the next player to average 30+ points per game. His defense and ball-handling need some work, as well as his body. But he’s only 20, I’m sure he can improve those areas in time. He’s actually younger than O.J. Mayo.

    2008: Rose
He is arguably the most athletic point guard in the league. His ability to penetrate and finish on a consistent basis combined with his unselfishness and demeanor put him in elite company. Alot of people talk about his lack of shooting ability, but his mid-range game is actually pretty good. It’s his defense that needs the most work. He has the athleticism to become one of the best defensive point guards in the league, he just needs to improve his awareness and cut down on his fouls.

    2009: Blake Griffin

The worst-case scenario that I can see for Griffin is a 15-8 type of guy, and that’s not bad at all. I really can’t see him becoming a complete bust. He doesn’t have any off-the-court issues, he’s not afraid to dive after loose balls, and he looks like a hard worker. The only way I can see him becoming a bust is if he gets hurt. Alot of people think that he’s the only superstar talent in this class, but I think differently. Flynn can also become a superstar. He has a very quick first step, he can play point in both a half-court and fast break setting, and he can get inside and finish. The only real knocks on his game are his height and his jumper. He’s going to have to develop a jumper to succeed, and I think he already knows that.

As far as Beaubois goes, you can’t tell a whole lot just by watching someone in summer league. Jerryd Bayless was named MVP of the 2008 summer league, and he was stuck to the bench the entire season behind Blake and Rodriguez. Donte Greene scored 40 points in a summer league game, and he didn’t see much playing time. Marco Belinelli scored at will a couple of years back, and he hasn’t been able to get any playing time. Gerald Green is ANOTHER guy who demolished the summer league, and we all know how that’s turned out.

Im not meaning that Beaubois WILL be the best, im just saying that he has such good potential, that if he reaches his full potential that he will be great.
But it is unlikely that he will reach it.

I really think Lopez will end up being the best player from 2008. I see him being a 20-10 guy with 2+ BPG for at least 6 years. Those kind of true centers come around once or twice every decade.

He’s in a good position in Jersey too, he should be the number two option behind Harris this year.

2006. Gay followed very close by Roy.
2007. Durant is in his own world.
2008. Rose followed very close by Gordon, Mayo and Westbrook.
2009. Griffin, only based on Summer League.

    06- Roy

    07- Durant

    08- Rose

09- Harden because no one has mentioned him and i think he will be better than Blake because he has way more of an ability to be a game changer with his passing and shooting

2006: Rudy Gay- i might get a few knocks on this one, but i honestly see a breakout year for him next year. coach k even said he was the 2nd best player (behind Durant) from the futures olympic quad. yeah he may be inconsistant, but he is still very young. i could see him turning into a Vince Carter type of player and being the number one option in memphis even with O.J Mayo. brandon roy is good too, but i just see him as being a solid player for the next 4 years, i don’t think he gets much better than how he is right now. i think he’ll be an MVP candidate next year because his team will be seeded number 2 or 3. i think LaMarcus Aldridge will surpass him soon and become the primary option in Portland in a few years.

2007: Kevin Durant- my boy, he is only 20 right now and he’s already one of the top scorers in the NBA today. he has a smooth jumper and pretty good handles for guy his height. he is already unguardable and he hasn’t even developed his “man muscles” yet, so when he does watch out. i might sound a little bias, but i see him as the leading scorer in the NBA for years to come.

2008: Derrick Rose- i love Russell Westbrook, Brook Lopez, and i think Gordon will be better than Mayo, but Derrick Rose could potentially be among D-Will and CP3 as a top PGs of the league. you look at him and he has a great compination and speed, strength, athletisism, and leadership. as he proved in the celtic series, he isn’t afraid to take over games. sure he has some work to do on his jumpshot and defense, but he can get to the basket and finish at will.

2009: Blake Griffin- yes i know, this would be the obvious choice since he was picked number 1, but i dont see any bust potential at all with this guy unless he has a really deflating injury. he will be a double-double machine and a top 5 powerforward in the game after a few years. what i love most about him is he has the desire to get better and is very coachable, which is y i cannot see him busting.
