who do you think has had the best offfseason?
    my 3 choices are…

    3.Spurs/Lakers
    2.Celtics
    1.Magic

the magic have had the best because they have met there needs plus some.
they will make it too the conference finals again i believe.

Spurs – Good team getting a lot better. Jefferson, McDyess, Blair, and Ratliff.

Raptors – Team that did bad last year that got a whole lot better. Turkoglu (might have paid a bit too much, but he is a huge improvement, and what they need), Jack (good price, good player, exactly what they needed in defence shot creating versitility, toughness, leadership and charcter), Evans (the guy would punch out a yak for the team), DeRozan (He will be a good addition for this year, as he showed in summer league he should have some value on the break, and should get a whole lot better), Wright and George (two good wings, one with good potential, one with a ring, both are tough and good defenders), and re-signing Bargniani (he is getting a deal that essentially pays him $10 mil for the next five years. If he gets much better, he will be worth every penny, and will have been a good deal).

they basically traded Ariza for Artest so… late bloomer who never has been a full-time starter for a multi-time all-star and arguably the best perimeter defender of the decade=Win

Both of these teams had troubles with injuries and both of them were getting older. But the spurs added a star in his late 20s, Richard Jefferson, and Antonio McDyess, who is still effective. (Quick note. DeJuan blair is in a great situation. he will be able to get good time for a good team, not to mention he will be mentored by the best pf of alltime and another very good one.) The Celtics bring in Wallace, a huge pick up, and i believe marquise daniels. Wallace will provide depth and offensive ability to the already deep frontcourt. Daniels is also a great addition. He will be able to come in for either pierce or allen when needed and provide points, something i thought the celtics’ bench backcourt players could not do. If the lakers dont resign Odom, look for a celtics/spurs finals. The dynasty of the 20th century vs. the dynasty of the 21st century.

    Parker/Rono
    Mason/Allen
    RJ/Pierce
    Duncan/Garnett
    McDyess/Wallace
Hill, Ginobli, Blair/ Daniels, Perkins, Davis

They traded away 3 of their starters from the team that made it to the finals? Well lost 3.
    Hedo.
    Rafer.
    Lee.
All they got back was Carter and a backup Anderson.
Jameer, but who knows if he could have carried them that far.

Artest has never been an All-Star, just saying.

But he has been the DPOY. He brings more to the table then Ariza as well. Plus the Magic got Bass and Barnes.

the bass signing is good but i dont really see what Matt Barnes brings to the table. Will he even play with carter, pietrus, and reddick alll at the 2? Is it just me?

pietrus is more of a 3 and will backup lewis..
but i hate rdick lol and barnes could possibly be interchangable when they go small and put lewis at the 4

They were able to get rid of Z-bo’s nasty contract, in order to make room for Blake Griffin, and in return they were able to get some decent bench players in Telfair, and Craig Smith (after having Q for about a week in a half from Memphis). I still think they need to make way for DeAndre Jordan, and they should be able to get something nice in return for Kaman, or Camby (who will be a RFA after next season).

Come on its the the Raptors and Magic by far. The Magic added Vince Carter who can still play at an allstar level, as is just as good a passer as Hedo Turkoglu. They added Brandon Bass and Matt Barnes and I know most people didn’t like them matching Gortat, but nothing wrong with having depth.

The Raptors added said Turkoglu, a future superstar in DeRozan, who wont be rushed to develop cause there is depth at his position with the addition of Atoine Wright and possibly Carlos Delfino.

I cant agree with the magic great offseason. They did add a few nice players, but they lost two vital parts. Lee was developing into a very good player and Turkoglu is a HUGE loss. For you people who watched the magic last year, i know u will agree with me. Hedo was a major part of there offense. He, combined with Rashard Lewis caused so many mismatches which was a major part of there success. Now they have Carter (equally talented) but Hedo was a better fit for them. Also, they thrived on good 3 pointshooting. Hedo is no longer there to hit the 3 or come up big in the clutch.

hedeo was a good passer and all. but the one thing that killed him was his damn lazy ass defense. plus he would never show up until it was too late. adding vince gives us theat go to guy we didnt have all last season. brandon bass will bring us toughness and plus he rebound unlike weak lew. barnes is a tall, long defender who can run the floor and shoot 3s. anderson can also spread the floor as well. resigning gortat means a capable backup for dwight.

I understand that the magic will be a deeper team, but Hedo’s absence will be felt. They lose there go-to-guy (might be good for Dwight to develop as a go to player) and they won’t shoot the three as well. With Bass on the floor, the Magic won’t be able to spread the floor and that leads to more double teams on Dwight. They will be good next year, but not good enough to make the championship again

The Magic have tried everything they can, but have lost their closer (Hedo) and Dwight cant shoot FTs… remember that the Celtics had the best record in the league with a healthy KG… and the addition of a defensive minded Sheed makes them so much better… they lost in the semi-finals last year but now they have the championship formula…

    Closer (Pierce/Allen)
    Post Presence (KG,Perkins)
Defender (Rondo, KG, and the best team defense)
Instant Offense off bench (Eddie House, Daniels)
3 Pointers (Pierce, Allen, House, Sheed)
and they hit their Free Throws

I dont even like the Celtics, but damn that has championship written all over it…
look for a Lakers/Spurs and Cavs/Celtics Final Four

I dont think the Cavs are getting in this one. I think it’s going to be Celtics-Magic, Celtics win. Then in the west Lakers-Spurs, Spurs win. Spurs-Celtics, too hard to tell with this match up.

Lol whoever said the spurs are retarded… that’s just a dumb comment, lol… some how picking Blair in the 2nd round is retarded? haha, alright

If Manu stays healthy, which is a big IF, the spurs will definitely give the lakers a run for their money (assuming they get odom). RJ had better bring it on the defensive end and with his 3pt shooting. those two aspects will be the key to them going far.

I got to go with adding Sheed though over the spurs though cuz the celtics haven’t lost any one major as of yet, although if Baby leaves that might push the spurs ahead. if the spurs can get bowen/oberto back they will really not have lost much either.
