Brad Stevens, Shaka Smart, Tubby Smith, Bo Ryan
Who are the best college coaches that motivate their players to play hard and with passion? I’ll start with Shaka Smart from my alma mater, VCU.
Steve Lavin is pretty good
Izzo is probably the best coach overall, but it is more about execution than pure effort.
Tom Crean is a pretty good motivator
Probably anyone who consistently gets the most out of their average talent.
So I’m fine with someone like Bo Ryan or even Tom Izzo. His team this year was not that good. Not borderline #1 seed good.
Izzo doesn’t get the top recruits and mcdonald’s all-americans to come to East Lansing, but his teams are always in the hunt for the final four year in and year out.
