What team is the best fit for Porzingis? Not just on the court but considering all factors as well. For instance, The Lakers and Knicks fanbases both wouldn’t be very receptive of him because they want other players and expect to go hard in free agency for a chance to win now.

Obviously fit is important for every prospect but even more so for European prospects who not only have to make the jump in play but also the cultural barrier. They need a team that really is all the way invested and believes in them. Dirk always makes reference to the fact that Nelly believed in him and let him play his game. Other coaches may have tried to make him more of a "traditional" Power Forward. Often times it seems like a highly regarded European prospect is the idea of the GM and not the coach (Nelly held both titles), so it’s often a clash. 

So considering all factors, what team gives Kristaps the best chance to reach his potential that reasonable have a chance at obtaining him? Philly seems like maybe the highest team that could select him but would that be best for him to go to a team with 3 other highly regarded PF/C’s and below average PG or wings throughout the roster. Orlando another popular spot also has a kind of logjam at the 4/5 position. So where can Porzingis best reach is ceiling or close to it?

 The New York Knicks and the triangle offense would be a good fit for him. I see him as more of a 4 but can play minutes at the 5 as needed. There is always a risk with International players he could be the next Dirk or Bargnanni. I like the kid, has a lot of potential and works hard as is only 20.

 I think the triangle would be a great fit for him too, but what about Melo? It’s hard to say whether he would be a help or a hindrance to Porzingis development even though I’m leaning towards the latter.

 Personally the Magic might be the best fit for him I believe, a rotation of him, Vucevic and Gordon might work well together I think. Also going to Orlando he won’t be under so much pressure to deliver as he would be in NY and can be given time to develop,

I don’t see him going in the top 3 personally so anywhere after NY and I think he’ll be fine.

If the Knicks took him and he became a top player, then I would be very happy for him too.

 I will pick Magic as well.  Vucevic has the bulk, A Gordon has the athletic ability and defensive game to defend either forward position, so Porzingis on defense will have an easier time until he gets stronger.  On offense, he seems to have the outside shot so he fits with a need for the Magic.

Plus the Magic when they run, Vucevic gets the rebound and then Payton, Oladipo, Gordon and Porzingis are sprinting down the court and dunking.  That would be entertaining.

 I’m starting to think Phoenix is going to trade Eric Bledsoe to NY and will end up with the No. 4 pick and will use it on Porzingis. All they have at the four is the Morrises and Brandan Wright. Solid players, but not stars. Plumlee and Len don’t have much offense. I personally am quite find of TJ Warren, but the jury is out on whether or not he’ll ever be a featured player. I think minutes for him will become available with Gerald Green likely out of the picture.

I don’t see him in New York because Phil Jackson is on record saying he’s not fond of bigs that take a lot of perimeter shots.

 believe it or not, 76ers would be the best fit for this kid, and it aint even close.

I think his best fit only if they traded down or acquired a second high draft pick would be Minnesota. He would have no pressure with Wiggins last years #1 pick with him and because they are a rebuilding team that is trending upwards but still really has no expectations for next year. He would fit in great with the up and down style of play they are going to be playing.
