So John Wall and Bradly Beal have exchanged "friendly" fires at each other. Where Dion says him and Dion have the best backcourt in the Nba. Wall responded that you have to win a playoff game to be that. Are either of these tandems the best backcourt in the NBA? Splash brothers?

Please read what you wrote? John Wall and Bradley exchange “friendly” fires at each other? They are on the same team.

Then you say Dion says him and Dion have the best in the NBA? Your all over the place but not really

    I got ya

Yeah, you kinda screwed up the original post, but I knew what you were getting at. So here’s my top 5 back courts:

    1) Curry and Thompson, they both have great shooting, one has great passing, and the other plays good defense.

    2) Lowry and DeRozan, when aggressive both are very good scores, defenders, and passers. Just streaky shooting though.

    3) Wall and Beal, very young and athletic. Wall can drive and pass while Beal shoots.

    4) Lawson and Afflalo, haven’t played together but they’re both above average players at their positions and underrated players.
    5) Dragic and Bledsoe, they play very well together as when combined they bring great passing, shooting, scoring, and defense.

If you don’t think DeRozan is a SG, move everyone up and I’d add Kyrie and Dion, who are good on offense, poor on defense, and haven’t proved anything.

Also, I’d watch out for the combination of Kemba and Stephenson this year. .

I think my top two would be the splash brothers, followed by CP3 and Redick / Crawford. I think the amount of experience that Clippers backcourt has gives them quite an edge over most others.

Dragic/Bledsoe anyone? Obviously not the best but could be in the discussion considering Lawson/Afflalo are.

Are we talking full backcourt like the title suggests? Or the best duo like people are posting? If it is the full backcourt then I would say that the Spurs still have the best all around backcourt. They have Tony Parker, Patty Mills, and Cory Joseph at the 1 and Danny Green, Manu Ginobili, and Marco Belinelli at the 2. All 6 of them play and they all contribute. They are all smart and play within the system perfectly.

As far as the best duo or starting backcourt goes, I would say Holiday and Gordon deserve a mention. I know they both have their injury concerns but when healthy those two are amazing.

If we are talking full backcourt, you almost have to go Phoenix. Dragic, Thomas, and Ennis at the 1. Bledsoe, Green, other Dragic, Goodwin at the 2. With the first four there isn’t a lot of drop off.

    1. Curry and Thompson are the, then its gets very debatable. The best backcourt to me has to do with talent and production, not wins. Even if you have a great backcourt and your front court is terrible then you are not going to wiN. So thats a moot point.

No one ever puts the thunder on these lists.

Westbrook wins the point guard matchup every time he’s on the court, so I would take their backcourt over any of the others. He beat up Chris Paul in the playoffs, that’s enough for me to put him and (Lamb?? Jackson??) at the top of the list.

If healthy, Deron Williams and Joe Johnson or Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash could be mentioned.

Curry and Thompson, a lot younger and healthier right now.  Better shooters too.

The best possible backcourt, the Thunder with Westbrook and Durant.  Seattle actually played Payton and Rashard Lewis together a little bit at the guard spots, maybe in Lewis’s second season.  Westbrook, Durant, Jones, Ibaka and Adams, worth a look.

Tony Parker and Danny Green are pretty tough to beat, even if Green isn’t a superstar.

That’s almost an underrated version of the Curry-Klay backcourt.

Harden is pretty clearly the best SG in the league, so I think that merits top 5 on its own.  We’ll see what Beverly does as the clear cut starter, but he’s an elite defender.  I need to see at least one 2000 minute season out of Bledsoe before I’m anointing a Phoenix backcourt that missed the playoffs over Houston’s.

i wrote this about a week ago but i guess its more relavent now. I put Steph and Klay ant 1. Beal and Wall at 2. Bledsoe and Dragic at 3. Kemba and Lance were 4. and Lastly i put Lilliard and Matthews and I took some heat for that. you can see my reasoning here. http://www.bobbawblog.com/bob-baws-top-5-nba-backcourts-2014/
