joe2324Participantcan’t the Knicks just bench Melo until he waives his no trade clause? At the very least, the knicks would almost be tanking, giving them a better chance at getting a lottery pick. Its obvious, Phil wants him out and wants to rebuild around Porzingis. .

SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantIf phil wants him out so bad why did he trade for Rose and Noah? I’m not saying you’re wrong the deal is just a major head scratcher if he gets dealt

r377ParticipantThey tried to build a team 2k style, rather than thinking about human chemistry and injury

khaled_a_dParticipantBecause they have to think about the future too,
Melo was a guy who forced his way to the Knicks, stayed their when he had a chance to leave despite knowing there was other better winners,he was loyal to the team and the City.Players and agents understands that this is a business, but there is also human and sport egos involved,if you are a player and you have two close offers to choose between and you see the Knicks benching Melo would you go for them? what about their own players right now? Are they all hate Melo too much to want to see that happen to him?
Never mind that I think if the Knicks done that the National Basketball Players Association could sue them as they will be clearly seen as a club trying to force player accepting something he doesn’t want despite contract saying otherwise
