Man his jump shot is so broken, im sure he can fix it but at the moment it’s completely broken, in the video he misses about 8 in row

 Yah that’s pretty bad. He has kind of a slingshot form because he doesn’t draw enough push from his legs. Not great elevation on his jumpshot and as he rises he leans to the right on every shot so he now has to compensate by shooting a bit to the left. From how consistently he shoots the same way you can tell he has formed these bad habits and they will not be easily corrected. You can pretty much count on Simmons not hitting very many pull up or fade away jumpshot in his rookie year because there is no way he gets those shots off with this form. He needs to immediately get with a shooting coach and fix this because it will take a while to correct.

 NBA coaches had him raise his hands above his head a bit & Viola he’s an excellent shooter………

Uni-brow was Blocking his Own vision……. he was releasing the Shot right in front of his eyes & momentarily losing sight of the Rim…….& adjusting his mechanics worked wonders……

College Coaches are hired b/c they can Recruit – most of them know Nothing about the Intricacies of the game……. & Simmons LSU coach is a well known Train Wreck………

Shot Mechanics can be taught…….. Being a 6’10” Explosive, Cat quick, High Flying, Rim Attacking, Muscle Bound Alpha Freak w/ Chris Paul’s court Vision can Not………. 

Simmons is a Beast…….. Try to visualize what this kid is going to do in the Wide Open……. Scoring Friendly………. No hand Checking NBA……… He’s a Bigger, Stronger, Way More Athletic, More Gifted Passing version of Draymond Green………. He is going to Wreak Havoc…… 

If he develops a 3 point shot…….. Well that’s just Not fair………. If u told me 24 months ago that Embiid, Okafor & Simmons would All be on the Same NBA team in 2 years I would have passed out……..

 a well known fact that Davis could Not shoot……… & it was the One & Only kncok on him entering the NBA Draft in 2012…….. 

In his Rookie year Davis Only avg 13 ppg & did Not even attempt a Single 3 point shot……..  It took 2 years in the NBA……. but Davis jumped to a 24 ppg scorer w/ a 54% FG% & he he even has a decent 3pt% for a 6’10” PF (32% from 3pt range this year)………….

B/C Davis suddenly Grew 8+ inches his final 2 years in High School……… His Shot Mechanics were screwed up for obvious reasons……. & since he only played One year at Kentucky & b/c they had Plenty of scoring from others………… no attention was paid to "Fixing" Davis’ shot……….

But fixing his Shot Mechanics in the NBA has made Davis a Super Star……… This is a Well Known story….. Here is a Link to One of the Dozens of stories on the subject …… included are "Before" & "After" videos of Davis’ Shot Mechanics………

Davis’ Entire Shot was studied, broken down & re-engineered from his foot work right before he shot all the way up to Raising his hands Above his line of vision (like the dude above remarked)……. but a Big part was Also improving Davis’ confidence in Taking the Jump Shot………… He has become so unsure of himself b/c his body had chaged so much that he was hesitating before he released the Jump Shot……… It’s an interesting article……

But if Davis Could Shoot in High School it was while he was Still 6’3” & before he Grew 8 inches……… & that makes sense so perhaps you are Both correct……… but Davis definitely could Not shoot from outside 5 feet when he entered the NBA…………

 Simmons will obviously never be a long range bomber.  His goal should be to make mid-range shots consistently enough to keep defenses honest.  If he consistently drain a 15 footer he wil be very dangerous .
