Yeah its one thing to show decent form when you get the ball dropped into your hands in rhythm from 3ft away during a drill.

Its another when you have 2 seconds on the shotclock trying to create separation and shoot over Kevin Durants outstretched arm.

Chad Ford says hes stroke looked OK at a recent workout, but not great.

Just going to have to wait and see, but my rookie stats for Simmons are as projected

    34mpg

    15ppg

    7rpg

    5apg

    1.4spg

    0.8bpg

    46% fg

    29% 3pt

    Sixers record: 20-62

Sixers will win at least 25 next year. 20 gets them one of the 3 worst records. Look at their win totals the years before this year not far from 20. I think this team with Simmons, a minute restricted Embiid, Dario Saric, no longer trying to force Okafor and Noel together, and whatever other moves they make- FA’s trades does enough to take them from a joke to just a regular bad team.

It’s not broken like many people that try to discredit him makes it seem. He don’t have horrible form on his jump shot and he shoots around 70% from the free throw line. I don’t know why people just assumed his jump shot is broken because he only shot 3 three pointers this whole season/

I think the video shows promise: that at this age he can fire off a shot that looks respectable. I think that means, at some point, he’ll have a decent jumper. If I’m going to nitpick: for guys like Seth Curry, the power of the shot comes from the eyebrow. The power of Simmons shot comes from above his head. But hey, technically, Reggie Miller shot the wrong way and he’s one of the most known clutch shooters in existence.

People say his jumper is broken not only because of his three point shooting, but he also wasn’t even an above average mid range shooter, and considering the fact that 3s and 4s need to be able to shoot it really hinders the perception of his shooting ability

Why shoot jumpers if you can always get to the rim? He can work on his shot, but its a non issue right now..  especially considering he makes FTs at a respectable clip.

I agree, there is a big difference between a broken jumper, and someone who isn’t a good shooter. And Ben Simmons is the latter. His jump shot isn’t ugly, it doesn’t have any hitches or poor rhythym, he just doesn’t make a lot of jumpers. For him, it might be as simple as getting into the gym and getting up a lot of shots, and gaining confidence from repitition as well as experience.

Work outs don’t mean a thing. It’s all about game time shooting.

The only thing we know for certain is that he will have every opportunity to prove his jump shot during the year. I suspect every defender will hang way off him until he hits a few outside shots.

I mean yeah, he makes some. His form still needs adjustment. He cocks it back way too far and then slings it. Almost like Lebron even though Lebron is a far better shooter.

I wish Lebron had changed his form long ago to something more along the lines of a Melo. He still cocks it back and slings it, and it’s not working. His jumper has been broken almost the entire playoffs except for a few games. Let’s hope Simmons does change his form, but I doubt it.

More of a reluctant shooter than a terrible shooter with no form

I might rather that than a gunner with broken form lol – I’ve seen those

I actually witnessed Simmons drill maybe 12-15 3 pointers straight before their home game against Ole Miss. Oddly enough, ole miss sagged deeply off of him and he still didn’t attempt a single jumper that game. So I think confidence plays a pretty big role in his shooting.
