cheetosjalapeno17ParticipantSo who is the best NBA prospect among the three? A breakdown of their games would also be greatly appreciated. Don’t have much highschool bball here in the Philippines and I don’t like judging them off their youtube mixes, so I trust the people here as they seem knowledgable of the top NBA prospects.

Arc12345ParticipantUntil I see last two play in college/against higher competition professionally, I don’t really care and it’s too tough to say.

markfitz14ParticipantPersonally I am all about Josh Jackson. I have never seen him in person. But he is so athletic that its crazy. To me I compare his body/muscle to MJ or Lebron. Not his game per say just that he will be one of the best athletes in the NBA. It is awesome how he can take off and get up to full speed and swithc directions. Jump crazy high. Makes it look easy.
Def need to see him in college against better players.

whiteflashParticipantHe is NOWHERE NEAR the athlete either of those guys are. I see Corey Brewer with a better handle in Jackson.

wonzi_bellsParticipantOh yes, he very much is.
People sometimes attribute too much exculsiveness with superstars. Like Gerald Green is every bit as athletic than MJ, maybe more but he still isn’t nowhere near him. In terms of run-jump athleticism, Josh Jackson is in the highest of tiers.

WrecklessParticipantReally not a fan of Giles. Feel he is a good prospect but personally I don’t think he’ll be a superstar. Feel Josh is a far more superior prospect. Watched him in Middle School when he played for Thompson and then watched him while he was at Consortium. The guy improves every year. There’s nothing he can’t do, and he also has that edge in him. That killer instinct per say. He rebounds at a high level, defends, finishes and his jumper is improving. Think he is just as good as a prospect as Wiggins was but even better defensively.
Simmons is absolutely killing the college game right now. Giles has had two ACL tears in the past 3 years.
I think Giles is third fiddle in this group and Jackson and Simmons are 1a and 1b

wonzi_bellsParticipantI mean, I would’ve unquestionably said Giles before the injury. The guy had so much fludity with his freakish athleticism with the length and a decent frame to play center at times, much like Anthony Davis.
But I didn’t quite think about this until recently but where will he be drafted coming off of two ACL tears for the 2017 NBA Draft? Like I couldn’t trust his health with a top five pick in a stacked draft. Not with two ACL tears.
I might actually have to go with Ben Simmons, though I haven’t watched a college game of him yet. I’ll probably watched both the Marquette and NCST games tomorrow. Looking at these box scores, he’s showing he can play with fours and I think he could develop in an decent three point shooter in time. Watching him in high school, I’ve known him to be a better perimeter defender than in the post but that could work just fine as a four in the league. I still want to see how he scores in the half-court. Also, he’s definitely the one most dependant on who he’s surrounded with on offense.
Josh Jackson is amazing but I look at him like an Andre Iguodala type. So not so much a franchise guy with his lack of ball-handling ability and shot creation, especially in the half-court. He gets compared to Andrew Wiggins a lot because of his body type and athleticism but Wiggins is just a much more natural scorer than Jackson is. Wiggins has the graceful athleticism and looks like he floats to the rim and he also has just more range for more shooting situations like curling off pindowns or catch-and-shoots and scoring skills like his spin-move. Plus, he looks more flexible going to the rim. Outside of his quick first-step, getting to the basket in two dribbles, he doesn’t have much ways to score in the half-court because of his really high dribble and lack of changing of direction and speed. Also, he’s drifted the few times I’ve seen him on offense. He should be looking to cut more often.
I do like that Jackson has played in a lot of different positions for his AAU team. He’ll be amazing guarding the perimeter but he rim protects a lot too, so he’s gotten different positional looks like Kobe Bryant did in high school.

HeroescantdieParticipantBen simmons to me is a real deal, he is skilled in terms of ball handling and passing, while he has above and underated athletecism, the only missing part of his game is his jumper, it’s the easiest skill to improve for some scouts. he has gobs of potential, he can create for others. Imagine a point guard in a 6’10 body. a lamar odom type but odom has his demons, simmons hopefully don’t, but siimons is more advance than odom when they are the same age I think. he’s in the Lebron KD, AD Tier.
To me Jackson is a paul george type or wiggins of a player. although he boast an elite athletecism his creating ability is not on the level of simmons. and simmons is taller. he’s not that every once in a while we saw a long lanky athlete like wiggins george coming out of the draft. but for simmons, he has unique in every way cause he’s in a pf body and his skillset is for guards. yet he rebounds well too.
Giles is a long lanky forward with good athletecism, developing jumper, but man, evey draft we almost see this kind of player, whose got athletecism and motor and can hit the open shot,
IMO simmons is ahead of jackson and giles
