RUDEBOY_ParticipantBen Hansbrough The Big East Player of the Year has signed a 1 year deal to play with FC Bayern Muenchen, a Bundesliga 1 Team in Munich..
Hansbrough went undrafted in thursday’s Draft..And told The South Bend Tribune that he felt he should’ve heard his name called thursday night..He also said in other seasons he could’ve had his pick of which team to latch onto and proved himself during the summer..But with Summer League canceled and the possibilty of a Lock-Out,he could not pass up this chance..

ChrischiParticipantBayern Munich is one of the upcoming teams in Germany. A great move by them, I think Hansbrough fits pretty well in German basketball. Problem for him is, they have two German-Nationalteam comboguards already so he could have a tough time getting a lot of playing time. Nevertheless, good move for both.

Cardinal_FanParticipantWhat’s the big deal??? Imo he is a 3rd PG in the league at best. His best bet is to stay there an get the maximum amount he can earn for his play instead of being a guy that could be in and out the league. And how he beat out Kemba for Big East player of the year is still a head scratcher smh…….

Real Talk Real TrophiesParticipantif you don’t know how he won big east player of the year, you must not have watched him very much (no disrespect to kemba as could have been co-players of year)… he would have been drafted and shot up the draft boards to early 2nd rounder if it wasnt for his injury that kept him out of workouts… i have a feeling this wont be the last we hear of the younger hansbrough… guy has lights out shot and tough as nails.

durantula83ParticipantGreat for the guy. I absolutely loved him in college, time upon time against the best of them, he proved he was one of the absolute top guards in the country. He’s tenacious, with a pitbull mentality and only a few players in this draft have his mental stamina and sense of responsibility. I can definitely see him playing backup in the league one day and was actually expecting the Pacers or the Jazz to pick him up sooner or later.

Cardinal_FanParticipantI’m sorry but i doubt that this guy would have tore it up against other guys in workouts. If he faced off against Kemba or Jimmer….Malcom Lee, or Shumpert for that matter i think he would have got killed. We’re talkin bout a guy that can’t guard and isn’t a strong ballhandler. He is a very high IQ player but that can only get you so far. Like i said i believe he would be a 3rd PG at best. He’s not JJ Redick……

JoeWolf1I’d do the same thing with the pending lockout and no summer league to help your cause making a team. Make a good living and play basketball next year and worry about coming to the NBA when the CBA is settled.
I think you’ll see guys like David Lighty, and others following suit.
