Michael.S.Participantwow Bargnani will love that, this team is doing it big with Euro’s , but anyways Belinelli is a good pckup because he adds a solid scoring punch in the backcourt

jojososaParticipantTha raps r working for a all international team
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 4:52pm #192796
ckowalskiParticipantYea, I agree with that, especially since you gave up a player in George that wouldn’t have really made an impact. Idk why Golden State would trade Bellinelli for almost nothing though. Last I heard they really liked him.

Tha King2121ParticipantThats Really going to help the Raps

Michael.S.Participantno thats not why , he was never give playing time cuz theyre team is a whole bunch of guards, ad anyways they traded him to free up Min. for Curry Probably

ItaliantarheelParticipantyeah him and derozan will be a good sg rotation with styles that should spell the other one and he will be great for stretching the floor

ckowalskiParticipantThat’s a good point I never thought about freeing up time for Curry. I guess they are really sold on him then. They do have way too many guards that’s the only thing I was thinking about.

ckowalskiParticipantIt seems kind of against Nelson’s style of coaching though since he doesn’t like giving rookies big minutes
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 5:06pm #192809

Da1potParticipantHe will fit perfectly on that team. You all have to agree that this year is do or die for Bellinelli . Now he will get the opportunity for some minutes and to show he can produce.

rvirsalParticipanti think they traded belinelli coz they got someone who does a lot of the things he does, and better in morrow.

sakuragi84Participantit’s a nice trade for the raptors. my guess is they did that because it seems like they’re having trouble trying to get Delfino.

Knicksboy34Participantbellinelli hasnt done much because he cant play D and all he is a long range shooter.

doubledribblerParticipantI think Bellineli is a good player. He played well last year in limited minutes, he just needs more court time to really develop. Realistically they probably could have gotten a little more for him, even though I know they seem to have 40 shooting guards on that team and one center. If they really want to trade someone they need to get rid of Maggette and Jackson and let the young guys play.

ckowalskiParticipantThere are a lot of one way players like that though. Ben Gordon and Eddie House come to mind immediately.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/29/2009 - 5:49pm #192842

OldSkoolBasketballParticipantWow they have a lot of European players on the team.

Knicksboy34ParticipantI guess, that deal is ok but Bellinelli wont make a big difference IMO

marcusfizer21ParticipantThe Raptors nabbed Marco Belinelli.. They have been pursuing Belinelli ever since the 2007 Draft they just couldn’t find a good deal… I think it is a big step for Toronto.. They are really making this team an international-flavored team where they have a Spanish PG, an Italian-flavored combo in Belinelli and Andrea Bargnani…plus guys like Ukic, Turkoglu and Nesterovic, not to mention CB4 added as an American player.. Things are getting more and more interesting for the Raptors…Belinelli was an awesome prospect that never made it huge for the Warriors but hey, he has got tons of potentials that can be develop for an upcoming team like them… So overall, this acquisition is an A+ for me…

FutureoftheGameI dont know about thier contracts, but could it be to relieve some cap. I think they will waive George to free up some time for Randloph at the SF spot.

auberParticipantI don’t know what’s worse, this trade or the Okafor one.

OhmilantaParticipantthis is good because toronto needs shooter now that kapono is gone and also its good for the warriors cuz it gives Anthony Morrow time to shine as an underrated player

festar35ParticipantApart from my own national basketball team (New Zealand) i like Italy next so the fact that Marco and Andrea are on the same team is awesome. Should of got Danillo instead of Hedo and developed around them then Italy and the raptors would be sweet lol.

gatorheelsParticipantThis is a really good trade for both teams. George isn’t a factor but the Raptors are paying his salary for the Warriors. So Golden State saves a little money. Coach Nelson hated Bellneli so it was best for him to be traded. The Warriors certainly didn’t need to keep him considering they have 3 players that can play SG that are all better than Belinelli in Curry, Ellis, & Morrow. Obviously the Raptors didn’t have to give up much & they get another Euro. Belinelli won’t make a big impact for Toronto but he helps a little. I think Toronto is going to have good team chemistry with all the Euros. Then you have Jack & Bosh who are best friends.

simos15Participantlove this pick up he has some real potential, he is a slasher that can really score from everywhere, not just stretch the floor. Was one of my favorite players and seeing that we gave up george(nothing) for him very happy an upgrade from kapono if you ask me
