MJBrownParticipantYou get to create your own Team USA. What does it look like:
C-Howard
PF-James
SF-Anthony
*SG-Bryant
PG-Rose
*Wade probably has earned the right to start over Bryant, just not sure any coach would be willing to bring Kobe off the bench after seeing how well Wade has adjusted to his bench role in the past
C-Bynum
F-Griffin
F-Stoudamire
G-D.Williams
G-Paul
G-Curry
G-Wade
*There is only room for 12. I’m taking Bynum and Griffin over Bosh to ensure that this team has enough size defensively.
Other notable misses:
Monta Ellis — this team has enough scorers
Aldridge and Love — Who’s spot do you see them taking? In the up and down style of play that this team loves to play, Griffin and Bynum are better fits IMO
Eric Gordon — Looked great last year, but probably not good enough to steal a spot on this team.

Anton123ParticipantI’d take Eric Gordon over Steph Curry, Gordon was excellent defensivly and is a pretty good three point shooter.
Also maybe Aldridge over Griffin, since Griffin is a pretty bad defender, Lamarcus is better IMO.

MJBrownParticipantI hear you on that one. It gets really difficult with so much talent. I like having all of my guards being able to LEAD and FINISH on the break. That’s the main reason why I like Curry over Gordon on this team specifically. I’m not sure that defending the wing would be a problem on this team. Curry would sit back in pistols and help on the weak side.
Aldridge is definitely a better defender right now than Griffin, I agree. But overall, I just feel like Griffin is a better fit overall for what his role would probably be.

mikeyvthedonParticipantLead Team USA in rebounding in 2008, over Dwight Howard. Not to mention, he played some solid low post D (for all the haters out there, this must really get to you). Plus, Bosh is a perfect international big man, with his ability to stretch the floor and speed. Keep in mind, there is no 3 second defensive rule in International play. I do not know if I would want to rely on Bynum though. It really depends on his health, but I might prefer LaMarcus Aldridge, who if he is at the same weight he was playing at last season, could definitely play the role Chris Bosh did in 2008 as a VERY serviceable back-up Center.
Well, I already made my picks, and they were:
This is my ultimate Team USA:
PG Derrick Rose
PG Chris Paul
PG Deron Williams
SG Kobe Bryant
SG Dwyane Wade
SG Eric Gordon
SF LeBron James
SF Kevin Durant
SF Carmelo Anthony
PF Blake Griffin
PF Amare Stoudemire
C Dwight Howard
I also provide a scenario, which could very well happen, where some players may not choose to play:

MJBrownParticipantI had a feeling I was forgetting someone big. Insert Durant for Curry. Now I have an extra SG/SF off the bench making dividing minutes a bit easier
Bench:
C-Bynum
F-Griffin
F-Stoudamire
G-Durant
G-Wade
G-Paul
G-Williams
I feel much better about this team now. Bynum is only there if healthy, Aldridge would be my next guy in.

joecheck88ParticipantMy starting 5:
PG- Chris Paul
SG- Kobe Bryant
SF- Lebron James
PF- Carmelo Anthony
C- Dwight Howard
Reserves
G’s- Deron Williams, DWade, Eric Grodon
F’s- Kevin Durant, Chris Bosh, Rudy Gay
C- Amare Stoudemire
Howard, bosh, and Stoudemire would be fine playing C against International competition. Durant, James, Melo, and Gay can play the 3 and 4 spots. We only bring 2 point guards but the are good shooters and distributors. kobe and Wade are good scorers and Gordon is another guy that can shoot and defend(and possibly handle some PG in spot duty if needed).

Memphis MadnessParticipantD Will,
yeah I do have Blake Griffin twice. So the 12th guy should be LaMarcus Aldridge. He is younger than Bosh and could
be around for Team USA longer. I think that if another wing player should be selected then I like James Harden. He
can shoot, score, handle the ball, and pass. He could play the 2 or the 3.0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/21/2011 - 2:53pm #575697

Chilbert arenasParticipantHaving Andrew Bynum on the squad would be a huge mistake. His latteral quickness has decreased since the knee injuries and he’s too slow for the international game, that’s why Bosh ended up getting more time near the end of the last olympics than Dwight did. Also Durant has to be on the team, he killed it for them in the world championships last year. Gordon over Curry, easy. Aldridge over Blake( hurts me to say that) and over Love. The rest of them are somewhat no-brainers.
