Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantBucks acquire Beasley from rockets for Tyler Ennis (who I honestly forgot was still even in the NBA). Milwaukee is obviously looking for cheap scoring on the wing after losing Middleton for what looks like will be most of the season. Beasley is always a gamble but their options were pretty limited at this point. He can at least provide some scoring punch off the bench and some outside shooting if he’s motivated and can stay out of trouble (which is always a big if). No one has ever really questioned his talent. Hard to criticize this move as its extremely low risk and Milwaukee was in a tough spot.

OhCanada-ParticipantNot sure if it will result in wins but I’ve always been a Beasley supporter. Not considered a high character guy but he is definitely not lacking in talent. Mixed emotions on this move. Parker plays the exact same position/role is probably as good if not better at this stage and has a much higher ceiling. Wouldn’t you not want to bring in a player that could potentially stunt his growth. High risk move to me but he will probably just end up buried on the bench.

Jr. ROXASParticipantBeasley was crazy efficient in his stint with the Rockets last year. And also, he was playing within the flow of the game, not chucking shots but setting good screens and hittting almost every open shot he takes.
It may seem hard to grasp, but Beasley just looked like a more mature player last season. I don’t mind him starting at 4 alongside Jabari and Giannis. He would be best suited to come off the bench though. Either way I think this is a nice addition.

Knicks44Participant25.3 PPG and 9.7 RPG per 36 last year with Houston while shooting 52% from field.
As long as he stays motivated he can help them score off the bench.0

Anton123ParticipantNot sure it solves their problem though, they already have Jabari, Giannis, Teletovic and Henson to play the 3/4 but they still don’t have a single guy who can effectively defend two guards. Middleton was not just important because of his shooting, his defensive versatility was huge too and Beasley sure isn’t helping that.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantMy guess is that giannis will be spending a lot of time defending 2 guards this year out of necessity. I think he has the ability to do it effectively, although it could wear him down somewhat. When he plays, mcw has the size and length to guard 2s as well. There is no doubt they are going to miss Middleton big time though.

Arc12345ParticipantI am the first to admit I thought Beasley would be the man in the NBA (even though he was labeled as undersized/too slow).
In my opinion, he had the best college freshman I’d ever seen (granted I was born in the early 90’s), but the man averaged 26 and 12, had a beautiful stroke, and was smooth as hell everywhere on the court.
I had never really seen such a developed scorer in college with the polish to his game. Clearly, I think he proved a lot of people wrong in that he definitely has the skill and ability to be a great NBA player. Unfortunately, his mental health and decision making really took away from the all star career he could’ve had. If the man lived the straight and arrow, I think he would’ve been an 8+ time all star. That’s how good I think Beasley is.
I hope this goes for well and I think it’s a smart move on both parts. I’m hoping he can get a starting job.

brodiejayParticipantBeasley is the perfect example of a player you want on your video game team… but if you had to ACTUALLY work with him day in day out, you (like all others before you) would cut him from your team faster than you can say "Supercool Beas", despite how talented he is.
I’d love to see him turn his career around and prove me wrong, but as an Australian NBA fan, when I read the news, I caught myself (unexpectedly) thinking- "Man, I hope he doesn’t screw up the locker room for Delly and Thon Maker’s development."

HitsterParticipantThe idea of having Beasley going onto a young roster always raises issues but he proved he could do a job last season and if Kidd is looking for a bench scorer then Beasley is a good option if he behaves himself.
Plus with the new salary level, Beasley’s deal is great value and Beasley should be motivated to get himself a better deal going forward.
