juves4783Participantlooks like beasley and the memphis grizzlies have agreed to a deal. i like the risk/reward and the grizz could definitely use some depth at sf and a stretch pf. guess, we’ll see which michael beasley shows up…

rich.homie.mitchParticipantI would’ve liked to see beasley go to the Spurs. Idk if they had the money to do that but I think that would b interesting if beasley went there.

juves4783Participanti thought the pacers may give him a look with the paul george injury and losing stephenson. i guess they think soloman hill, chris copeland and cj miles will be able to play some good minutes.

IndianaBasketballParticipantMickey Arison, Pat Riley, Bob McAdoo Alonzo Mourning, Juwan Howard, Erik Spoelsta, Ron Rothstein, Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, Udonis Haslem, Ray Allen…
IF Michael Beasley can’t get it together under the leadership/guidance of ^^^^^^ those guys up there, what makes anybody think Beasley has a chance anywhere else?
Beasley’s NBA career will be looked at as a complete waste of talent. Talent of an All-Star, mind of a buffoon.

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantMentor ZBo?
I say that jokingly, but the light eventually went on for Randolph. Beasley has not assembled the stat sheets early in his career that Randolph did, but the ability to do so is not in question. The problem is that either he has never figured out the importance of being a two-way player or simply has not picked up the focus and attention to detail needed on that end. Unfortunately, too many bad, rebuilding teams do not put that at the forefront of their team building. He has stumbled a few times on his own as well, but the combination has certainly put him in a tough position.

RUDEBOY_Participantto the surprise of many, beasley stayed out of trouble last season in miami..maybe it was the influence of the guys indy mentioned….
gm chris wallace said in an interview this morning that they brought beasley in to be randolph’s backup..not to be the starting sf… they’re overcrowded at the wings and still looking to make more moves….they have nothing to lose in this deal..but they could use his ability to create instant offense…..
he has a better chance of making the team if they’re looking at him as a power forward..he’s better than leuer and rookie jarnell stokes needs time to adjust to the nba…

prophetmeirParticipanti Remember seeing beasly in his oak hill days smh its sad to see how his game and attitude could not translate to the NBA level. I was hoping POP was going to pick him up.

TopShottaParticipantHe still has an opportunity to be a very productive player in the league. He just needs to be focused in 100% and the right situation…

JoeWolf1He has too much of a reputation right now, especially with Lebron James kind of getting frustrated with him last season. I think Mike needs to head to Europe and rebrand himself. As of right now, he’s getting kicked around the lower rungs of the NBA, and this really doesn’t do much for his perception.
Maybe a year or two overseas would take him away from the everyday spotlight, he’d certainly have the talent to put up good numbers and help a team, in the right situation, and then he could possibly come back as Mike Beasley, the guy who put up good numbers overseas and has turned himself around, rather than Mike Beasley, the guy who got cut by the Grizzlies after the pre-season, or Mike Beasley, the guy who made Memphis’ 15 man roster and disappointed Z-Bo or Marc Gasol by low intensity practices.
I’m not sure how many more chances this guy has, but maybe some pro basketball where he’s out of sight, out of mind, can maybe rebrand him and help him get a shot next year, and give him a little more of a bargaining chip next off season.

all netParticipantAs a huge KU basketball fan, and remembering his play at KState all I can see now when I watch him play is what he could have been. I know it has been said many many times before on here and other places but he had what it took to become a great NBA player. In the game where KState beat KU that year he thoroughly dominated the team that would go on to be the national champions that year. He did it to every team too. It wasnt just a Jimmer Fridette dominance, who undoubtedly was great in his own way, hitting deep threes to put up huge stat lines, he dominated inside and out. He ripped teams to shreds, and after seeing him play a few times in college I was sure that he would be a top 5 player in the NBA. I just wish he could have commited himself to that.

properbreaksParticipantTo me his whole career would have been different if he was an inch taller at 6’9. Then he would have without question been a pf from day one. I knew soon as they moved him to the small forward he’d stop grinding around the rim and settle for jumpers. And boy did he settle for jumpers……

HitsterParticipantHe is still only 25 years old but he could almost be at last chance saloon, Whatever people’s views on marijuana are, it cannot have a place in major sport and it has certainly caused Beasley issues in the past. When he had the incident at Rookie Camp about 6 years ago that almost immediately killed off any likely chance of him getting near Team USA as Coach K would not surely have risked picking a player who any Drugs tester was likely to jump on.
Hopefully Memphis will be a good move for Beas and as said above he stayed out of trouble last year so if he has broken that cycle it’s a good start. He plays a solid season in Memphis giving them useful bench scoring. Z-Bo looked like he was going through a similar cycle at the Blazers and in NY but during 5 seasons in Memphis he has been a double all star and has taken his career well into his 30’s. Admittedly Z-Bo was superior NBA player to Beasley during his Jailblazer era but on potential Beasley would beat him every time. So the likes Z-Bo, Carter, Prince etc might be able to assist Beasley to finally prove what he can do.
