I read this on insider and thought it was worth sharing. Obviously, I did not write this.

Forwards Terrence Jones [Kentucky] and Perry Jones III [Baylor] worked out against each other in front of the Golden State Warriors on Monday and both were disappointed after it was done.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Jones from Baylor said he was nervous during his first team workout and he could not make mid-range jump shots. Jones from Kentucky said defending small forward or power forwards in the NBA will be difficult.

Vanderbilt center Festus Ezeli was part of the workout and he had a different view of the Jones vs. Jones battle.

“(Perry) was doing what he does — getting to the rack,” Ezeli told The Oakland Tribune. “And Terrence was playing good defense. They were just going at it. It was a competitive day.”

According to the newspaper, a source said the two forwards didn’t “wow” the Warriors and didn’t improve their chances to be selected with the No. 7 pick in the 2012 draft.

The Warriors are hoping to upgrade the small forward position by trading the No. 7 selection or using it.

and it made me rethink GSs pick- GS might be the hardest draft pick to predict right now. And it can have such an effect on the rest of the draft. They seem to be in that tough to trade them tough to pick anyone situation. But then you got to wonder… does this mean PJ3 and TJones might slip a little falling into that "tweene" label? Good article.

The Evan Fournier article also left me wondering if someone would reach for him, but then teams like to save the INT players for down the road…

I really like T. Jones for the warriors at 7. He could play the 3 and slide to the 4 when it’s time to play small ball… I actually think this should be one of the easier picks in the top 10 if they trade the pick.

This could be a smokescreen. We’ll just have to wait and see.

It’s interesting that both Perry and Terrance were chosen to guard each other..Both are versatile players and can play 2 positions…..The Warriors might’ve been looking to see what is the diffence between the 2 before deciding to pick 1 of them….And Ezeli makes alot of sense as their late 1st round pick…

Anyone who would base a pick solely or even a big part of the decision based on a one on one workout isn’t too bright( which might be why many teams never get much better). I hope Jones drops to 10 and Sully is off the board so the Hornets draft him

If they were really serious about being Warriors, they should have taken a page from Epke’s book and worn a suit.

PJ3 was getting to the rack. Teams downplay guys they like.

The warriors want to get as many prospects as they can in so they can figure out who wants their pick the most and trade it and a piece for a vet. It sounded like both players really wanted to do well and did not perform up to their own standards.

Bogut, Beirdens, Lee, Tyler are all guys who can play C and are all guys that cannot exist long term on the same team.  I’m curious to see what they do there and draft night could be a starting point.

I actually think Perry Jones will be a bust and Terrence will be even better than in college

I think they will both be pretty good. Perry may take another year or two but I think he will get it together and become one of the top 6 or 7 players in this draft.
