Looks like hes going to stay anther year, would have thought by any means he would have left. I know he is older for his grade want to say 21/22 ? I think what buddy has able to do with his stock has made some kids rethink about staying.

You may die eating all of that, but it would be a glorious and honorable death.

Dwayne IDOLIZES Michael Jordan. Seriusky. He wants to get better and Jordan stayed three years so Dwayne sees that and knows he can be the best. I think he should have left, but can’t Blane him.

I like that he is staying. If he would have left he would have probably just been playing in the D-Leauge for next season. I am still very high on him and his future potential, but he does need to work on a few things:

    1) Needs to gain more consistency with his 3-ponts shot. We have seen flashes of what he is capable of doing behind the 3-point line @FLA and @VT, but we need to see that on a regular basis.

    2) Defensively I would like to see him play with more energy and effort when he is off the ball. I see him just looking at the ball a lot and losing his man when off the ball.

PrecociousNeophyte – Earlier in the season I said that Bacon was a poor shooter, and was unimpressive on defense.  Do you remember that?  You basically came after me and attacked me for that assessment.  I said that he was a late first/early second rounder and you flipped.  You thought he was lottery material.

I guess now you have reversed yourself and agree with me.  That’s okay, we all make mistakes.  Maybe next time someone posts something you don’t agree with, you will be a bit more polite and civil about it though.  That way when you are proven to eventually be wrong, you won’t sound like a petulant kid.

Actually I still don’t agree with with you. Yes, he did not get it going consistently from 3 this year, but we saw flashes of what he will be in the future. He has a nice stroke and with more practice he will start getting it to fall consistently. You look to much at current production, which is not as important as it is once you reach the professional ranks. I gave you the Paul George example, who is much better in the NBA then college.

I went back and looked and your whole point on him being bad on defense was based on that he did not get a lot of steals, which is completely ridiculous. This was first year he probably had to play real defense, so there is a learning curve there. Leonard Hamilton is a good defensive coach and will continue to help him learn and grow defensively on and off the ball. He has the tools to be a good defender. Solid on the ball right now.

I originally got frustrated with you because you just listed a bunch of stats about him, which any Joe Schmoe can do. I don’t like people that think they know a sport because they can read stats and that is what you did with him. I would like to hear from you an evaluation of him without using any numbers. I think it would be very hard for you to do because I doubt you actually watch him play.

Your way of evaluating prospects is flawed and I hope you are not pursuing a future in scouting. You would seem better off at looking at excel spreadsheets or something of that nature because you love numbers so much.

We will see who is right about Bacon in a few years.
