valentinethis guy has been overrated! brandon jennings had 1 spectacular game against G.S last year and people quickly jumped on his bandwagon. well im here to say… hes not as good as everyone makes him out to be on this site. i really dont think hes even close to being an all star also. he got all the hype coming out of oak hill highschool… and i just want to say hes the next sebastian telfair if you ask me! agree or disagree, please someone give me an argument that says otherwise.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantExcept… Brandon Jennings averaged 33-7 in high school, on the best team in the country while playing the toughest schedule in the country and leading them undefeated.
Except… Telfair came into the league and averaged 7ppg, 3apg in 2 years. While Jennings averages 16-5 and made a playoff appearance where he and Salmons DOMINATED the Hawks where he dropped 18-4-4.
Except… Telfair’s defense is pedestrian while Brandon’s is very pesky.
Except… Jennings was a starter playing 33mpg on a 2nd Rd (Or should have been) playoff team, while Telfair played 22mpg on a 27 win team.

NYK2010ParticipantHe’s better than Telfair but he’s just an avg. PG who got too credit for the Bucks success last year.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 12/09/2010 - 1:08am #454827
bdoody42ParticipantThe reason Jenning got credit is because he was a starter on a team that wasn’t expected to make the playoffs. I thought they would be in the middle of lottery. Bogut and Jennings kept the team afloat at the start of the season and the addition of Salmons just gave them a little push.
He isnt the only reason they made the playoffs But he sure helped.

lalailaParticipantcall me crazy but i would rather say Curry is overrated in that GSW system than Jennings in that defesive-minded Skiles’ system on a better team and still putting very similar numbers

Meditated StatesParticipantI agree come with some better sh!t than this. B Jennings is not the best, but he is a problem everynight and can run an offense. It’s not his fault Salmons and Maggette are taking the season off. Him and Bassy are not really comparable to me.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 12/09/2010 - 5:37am #454864
dylanhouParticipantI didn’t know that average point guards in the nba get 19 and 5 a game. And if he wasn’t due credit last year who was? they had the whole rest of the team before they drafted him lol and that team was in the lottery
0 - Posted on: Thu, 12/09/2010 - 5:57am #454869

delfamParticipant.393 FG% and .368 3P%, not very good percentages, you’d think if he’s shooting so bad he’d stop shooting and try to be more of a passer, but he still only averages 5ast a game which is only average for NBA PG’s.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 12/09/2010 - 6:07am #454870
billykParticipantI agree with Brandon Jennings being slightly overrated, since he has came in the league he has been very inefficent (.376 FG and .348 from 3pters) and he is also somewhat of a chucker with a weak mid range game… I dont understand why a inefficent PG on a team with some decent scorers leads the team in a shot attempts… His passing and ball handling decisions has been somewhat suspect (5 ass to 2.5 turnovers)… His on ball defensive has been pretty good, but he is far from a lockdown defender and doesnt get alot of steals for somebody his speed..
I think Rindour and Bogut meant just as much to the Bucks success last year as Jennings… I think Jennings is a flashy player with potential, but he is playing more off of reputation than how good he actually is right now.. BTW I dont think he dominated the Hawks last year, he played very good for a rookie, but I wouldnt call averaging 18 ppg, 3reb, and 3 asst shooting .410 dominating…

Pro-21ParticipantB. Jennings is maybe a bit overrated but his potential isnt,…and idk i feel like his assist numbers wud be much better on a better team, he has great court vision…he still needs to work on his shot though
0 - Posted on: Thu, 12/09/2010 - 8:26am #454935
joecheck88Participanthis 3pt percentage isnt that bad, his overall percentage is pretty bad tho. but sebastian telfair? overrated or not, 55 points in his 7th game is something nobody has ever done. sebastian telfair has never come close to doing anything historic. and i think playing for skiles is going to help his game in the long run. he is still only like 21 or 22. ya he may be struggling some with his shot but if he gets that up to like 45 percent, he will be an allstar. its his second year!!
0 - Posted on: Thu, 12/09/2010 - 9:53am #454967
balla619ParticipantJennings he’s good but nothing special.
I"ll take guy on my team Devin Harris over him, the guy can shoot and passes better on a team with only 1 other real player.
Some of Jennings fans last year had him as a top 5 PG last year after a hot start, but he cooled off pretty fast.
He hasn’t improved just taking more shots nothing special except maybe keeping the turnovers down.
Now the Bucks suck, all those experts predicted them being better than the Hawks ha.

princequesParticipantOverrated??????????? Didn’t know 19 and 5 in your second year made u overrated. Being the only real perimeter threat on your team and still being able 2 get the job done made you overrated. Palying in a slow tempo offense when your an up tempo player but still running the show made you overrated. Wow, most of the time I just read all the stupid post that you ppl make but I have 2 draw the line. I have league pass and I watch each team on the regular and jennings is far from overrated. But I must admit, you can’t please everyone, the stats and the progression don’t warrant the criticism in this case. I can unbiased, bball fans please do better with these posts.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 12/09/2010 - 2:38pm #455047

IndianaBasketballParticipantJennings got too much credit last season, while Ridnour didn’t get enough.
Jennings is going to be a good point guard, but I think he’s overrated… especially on this site. I mean, there was a comment last season that he’d be better than Derrick Rose and Russell Westbrook by the *end of the season*.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 12/09/2010 - 2:44pm #455052
bigblackNbeautifulParticipantI see my fair share of bucks game. B Jennings is what this team/ City needed. He is loyal from what it seems. He is energetic and has a swagger amongst him. Before you start saying, he is a awful decision maker watch a bucks game. He shoots because until salmons got there no one else could take their man one v. one. he is relied on by his team mates no only to spark the team and lead them. But also bail them out when there offense isnt working. Withe the way Maggette and Salmons have started this year it doesnt run half as effective. He is really a great player with a great future. And his apg will go up once he gets a wing man you can be consistant, just like it did when salmons joined last year.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 12/09/2010 - 3:59pm #455075

SteroidParticipantI think he is overrated or just having a "sophomore slump". He’ll be an exciting guard to watch in the league, but I’m not so sure if his play helps his team more than hurts it, honestly…
0 - Posted on: Thu, 12/09/2010 - 4:03pm #455076
balla619ParticipantCalm down, he gets 19 pts but he doesn’t even shoot 40%. 21st in the league in asts that means your not that great. Devin Harris is a better shooter and passer, like I said Jennings is nothing special maybe he will be in a few years.
Theres a reason why the Bucks are such a bad team and Jennings is 1 of them.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 12/09/2010 - 4:10pm #455077

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantSteroid
So you’re saying Jennings hurts his team more?
So in other words, he had NOTHING to do with Bogut having the year of his career?
Ok, got it.
You’re saying that if the Bucks didn’t have Jennings they have made the playoffs?
Ok, got it.
You’re saying without Jennings, they would have beat the Hawks in game 7 and moved on the the 2nd round?
Ok, got it.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 12/09/2010 - 4:51pm #455090

SteroidParticipantWell what I should have said was that Jennings barely helps his team more than hurts it. Jennings might have had a lot of big shots, but it’s not like his play at the PG position didn’t contribute to need of having to make such shots. Jennings is a scorer first, and if anything, Jennings contributed to Bogut getting more offensive rebounds, and I wouldn’t say Jennings is the main reason why Bogut got a career high in scoring last season. Jennings can’t dish assists any better than any other worthy starting PG in this league, and Bogut’s significant career high season was due anyway. Jennings helped contribute to the team winnings last year, but it is not like he had some significant part in in comparison to other high profile players and their teams.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 12/09/2010 - 5:05pm #455092

SteroidParticipantAnd really, Tongueitout, you can replace Brandon Jennings’ name on that list you have with almost any starter on that Bucks team last year, especially Bogut’s. They wouldn’t even be in the playoffs without Bogut playing the 69 games he played last year…
0 - Posted on: Thu, 12/09/2010 - 5:14pm #455093

kobyzParticipantJennings is great
0 - Posted on: Thu, 12/09/2010 - 5:24pm #455097

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantYeah, you’re right but don’t take away all the credit from Jennings and the Bucks success. He had as much to do with their playoff success as Bogut and Salmons.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 12/09/2010 - 5:46pm #455100
balla619ParticipantYeah Jennings is great, Greg Jennings not Brandon.

Dude, none of your posts are even intellectual, put some thought into what you say.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 12/09/2010 - 6:27pm #455108
balla619ParticipantI already did read the earliers posts.
Don’t need to prove that Brandon Jennings isn’t great.
Greg Jennings is a WR for the Green Bay Packers scored 39 TD’s in 5 yrs.
WR=Wide Receiver.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 12/09/2010 - 8:20pm #455131

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantDude… I probably watch and play more football than you.. I know who Greg Jennings is.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 12/09/2010 - 9:28pm #455154

sheltwon3ParticipantJenning is a true point guard and can run a team and I think a lot of his numbers have been hurt because of Bogut not playing early on or playing at half speed. Also Maggette has not been a good fit and Salmons is having down year. Bucks are still doing enough to possibly be a lock at the 6 seed unless New York stays hot.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 12/09/2010 - 10:34pm #455166
balla619ParticipantTongue u probly play more ball than me, but I been watching since the mid to late 80’s so I don’t think you’ve seen more football than me unless its college. I doubt u know more about the NFL or NBA than me. I didn’t write Greg Jennings info. for you anyway.
Maybe I should just say Jennings is great which is a ludicrious statement.
To me he’s the 13-15th best PG in the league thats not great. Doubtful if anyone has him higher than 10th.
Numbers like 19 and 5 with 39% shooting don’t blow you away either.
None of my posts are intellectual, thats a stupid comment and not true. Just because u don’t agree with my opinion doesn’t mean its wrong or not intellectual.
I already posted why I thought Jenning wasn’t great the numbers 5.5 asts for any PG is not great. He’s not a special player rite now that would be Westbrook but Jennings has the potential to be. He def. knows how to run the team but if he got credit for them making the playoffs last year only natural he takes a hit for them struggling this year. I think he got too much credit last year and this year no one on their team is playing well really.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 12/09/2010 - 11:00pm #455169

GrandmamaParticipantAccording to J-Nixon’s top 50 Brandon Jennings (who he ranked 35th overall) is better than John Wall……lmao, he may wanna revisit those rankings
0 - Posted on: Thu, 12/09/2010 - 11:16pm #455170

JNixonParticipantYeah I might. I just had a problem with putting Wall in a ranking before the season started. I also expected Jennings to break out this year.
