the simple fact that b. colangelo name is being mentioned in the same breath as the GM who shell not be name ( for ppl outside of toronto… Babcock) tells u all u need to know about the terrible job this guy has done during his tenure here in toronto…

Colangelo Greatest Miss List:

1. Hiring the “king of Euro ball” M. Ghanrandini — the start of the Euro invasion

2. Drafting A. Bargnani — A 7ft who shoots 3pt and doesnt know how to block out… in a draft year where there was no stand out #1 pick why not draft position of need or try to trade down and pick up anything… that year i was sure they were going to pick r gay to hopefully grow with Bosh (yes b roy would have been the best pick but i’m only sicking to what i was thinking at the time)

3. Extending A. Bargnani — i guess the fact that he went to bed with the kid u had to merry him long term… or maybe just looking out for the italian brother

4. Sign Turk-a DUD — what a MISS and this is why i think B. Colangelo has placed himself rightside the GM that shell not be mention in Raptors history… how is it a couple of guys sitting around drinking beer know that sign Turk-a-DUD to a 5 yr deal would be a bad idea or atleast by the 3 yr ( boy did we give him too much credit) and a paid GM not

5. *Future Miss* Starting the season with the Euro No D 3…. Bargnani / turk / calderon

Honestly When BC Gave Turk that huge deal many people percieved the raptors as a playoff team, Turk just hasnt played to the money that he was given. You cant blame BC for that he isnt the coach and cant make players play. However you are Absouletly correct with the epic mediocrity that he has drafted in the past couple of years but maybe he turns it around with Ed Davis( which I think he will be a solid to above average PF) and Derozan( Needs a killer instinct, a jumpshot but has great potental)

Bc isnt as bad as your stating him to be but honestly just think how many mistakes other gm’s around the league make as well, Bc is under a microscope here in canada since its the only team north of the border and it believe it or not gets alot of media attention around the country. now do i beleieve hes done a great job no hes made mistakes, anyone with a basketball mind could have seen turk as a bust at the contract he was signed to. but one thing we have to give BC credit for is the willingness to make big moves to try to improve the team year after year when he see’s something thats not working on his current roster, my biggest concern with BC is his infatuation with the european players since they have a hard time playing good on ball defense in this league( atleast the ones he signs do) and in defense of bargnani in any draft that your in the lottery your goal is to draft a atleast a top 5 player from that draft class and bargnani is within that range to this day.

Unfortunately, firing BC is not that easy.

1) BC has 1 year left (and I think he was given some % of ownership when he was signed)
2) MLSE is cheap, so they probably won’t fire BC unless he pulled a Babcock
3) As incompetent as BC, more than 50% of the GMs in the NBA are probably as incompetent as he is or even worse, so firing BC would basically lead to another BC with a different name.

Any suggestion for a good GM that is available for a job other than Kevin Pritchard? There are some rumors saying that Kevin Pritchard wasn’t the one making the calls to get Roy and Aldridge. It was somebody working under him that got the talent right (the rumor suggested Pritchard wanted Morrison).

Yah it’s true in a way…If we don’t go out and get a FA when we have space everyone says why arent you trying to sign anyone. When we outbid everyone and land a top FA (which Turkoglu clearly was last year) everyones upset we overpaid. Turk was worth the contract if he played the way he did in Orlando. Calderon was worth the contract if he played the way he did when he shot 50%FGs 40%3s 98%FTs and 9APG. tyhey just played bad last year and are too soft to put together.
