If for some reason Austin rivers is still around by the time the Boston clerics were to make there pick, do you think the celtics will select him. He would be perfect for there team. He is a young, proven scorer and can fill the shooting guts spot that they need. It may be pretty weird and awk if they have to trade him and what happens if doc passes on his son?

I think there is no way he slips that far in the draft, but if for some odd reason he does there is no way they pass him up, as by then he will easily be the best player available on the board.

The Boston Clerics, as clergymen, have no need to add a basketball player to their monastery.

The Celtics really don’t need him, they are pretty set for a while at PG and SG with Rondo and Bradley. The Celtics should worry about getting some help up front.

The Celtics are dead last in the NBA in rebounding, so if I were them I would draft the best rebounder available with at least one of the picks, if not, both.

never draft need. it should always be the best player. its what gets teams in trouble. at the worst, you have trade value down the road. Phoenix still drafted Steve Nash when they had Jason Kidd and Kevin Johnson on roster. Its what got Portland in trouble twice. They had Drexler so they really didnt need Jordan. GS did it when they traded Vince Carter on draft night

My guess right now is that he will be drafted by the Rockets then traded to Boston for Avery Bradley

I’m a firm believer that Austin fits in real well with the Celtics as a scorer off the bench.  His defensive deficiencies will be masked by rondo/bradley, and I think it’s pretty well documented that he’s the best 1 on 1 player in this years draft.  The NBA is an isolation league…Rivers will be able to score from day 1.

no20 tony wroten,no 24 fab melo.  wroten and bradley (replacements for ray allen)  and fab melo, a 7 footer who can give immediate help to KG. then you have a young core consisted of rondo, bradley, bass, jeff green(hopefully he returns), fab melo, wroten, and the old duo, paul pierce and KG.
