yaboymalParticipantI know there has been alot of Austin Rivers threads on this website and Im sure alot of people have seen this video but for those who haven’t need to check this out. This is one of the best high school basketball mixes if not the best I have ever seen.
Also how good do you guys think he is, and how good do you think he will be what are your thoughts on how he is going to do and fit in with duke, what are your NBA comparisons, and how do you think he will do in the league

PaulsJayhawksParticipantHe got that 1 highlight dime. What will be interesting is if the kid will learn to share the rock.

WinterSoldierParticipantHe looks good, but he won’t stand out athletically in the NBA.

AaronMck91ParticipantAustin Rivers is a great offensive player. he learns how to share the ball and play defense consistently he can be great. Hes definitely a Top 10 pick next year. Hes already more advanced because hes learned from his dad and imo that translates well to the nba .

WinterSoldierParticipantAfter watching a few highlights of him he kind of reminds me of OJ Mayo, but he’s not exactly like him maybe a little Stephen Curry or maybe some kind of mix of the two.

i’m jus so offendedParticipantI really hope he can learn that sharing is caring, dude is the high school Jamal Crawford right now. Your just saying Steph Curry cuz he’s a light skin brotha.

i’m jus so offendedParticipantlet me expand tho, he’s the best HS player right now. He obviously has to score for his team to win but he’s not like Steph at all. Austin has more athleticism, more quickness, and does not possess the PG skills Steph has. Kid is absolutely special, will actually watch Duke games where I am rooting for them (pains me to say) only because Austin is such a polarizing basketball figure. I think he will be a top 5-10 draft pick and for good reason. People talk about his lack of height as a 2 guard but how has that negatively affected Eric Gordon???

WinterSoldierParticipantDon’t call me racist, I see some of Currys game in him it has nothing to do with skin tone.

lakanoParticipantI think he’ll b like OJ Mayo when he gets to the league… Star in HS, top 5 player in college, and just above average player in the league.

RicoParticipantEric Gordon is not negatively affected for lack of hieght because he has a thick/stocky frame. He has a good 20 pounds on Rivers.

kngojcParticipantI don’t know what it is but from all the videos I’ve seen of him, he reminds me of Derrick Rose with the go-to crossover and also that signature two handed slam. I think he will find a nice niche in the league as someone like J.R. Smith mixed with Nick Young/O.J. Mayo. I think with a team like the Wolves he would do great because he would be a go-to guy. That’s the difference of him being a star in this league and just a scoring 6th man or mediocre starter. If he is given the responsibilities of being the leader, he will succeed; if he has to follow someone else’s lead and be a third option, he won’t be nearly as effective.
IMO he could be anywhere from J.R. to Deron Williams.
