I know that he hasn’t put up huge numbers, and it is only the preseason, but are you guys as hopefull for his future as i am? Despite the fact i’m a pistons fan, I had many doubts not only about his weight, but i wasn’t too familiar with his skill level. But so far he has done nothing but impress. He had a huge tayshaun esque block on DWAYNE WADE, and what i liked the most about that was the fact that it was his shot airballing that led to the breakaway, and he had to sprint to get him (he was the only one who even tried). In that first game he also nailed a three, and again i wasn’t too familiar with his game, but quick release plus a seven foot something wingspan makes him hard to block. He also had a pretty nice dunk/alley-oop (i forgot which) against milwaukee. Sorry i went off like that but does anyone else think this could be a star in the making?

I hope he becomes a star, but I think its more likely that he has the makings of being a very solid pro maybe in the Robert Horry mold. People forget that Horry was fairly skinny himself when he came into the league(not as skinny as Daye) and just continually got bigger over his career. Daye has already shown some athleticism that we never really saw at Gonzaga and if he combines that with his deadly jump shot i think he has a legit chance of becoming a legitimate 15ppg/8rpg type guy over his career

I think Austin Daye has 20 ppg-5 board-5assist potential and I think he’ll reach it. He’s gifted on offense and he’s a better rebounder and defender than anyone thought he would be. He showed it in SL and he’s showing it now. I think they’ll keep Tayshaun for this year to groom him, and then the job will be all his in 2010-2011. I would believe that Dumars sees him as a core member for the future and groom him like it.

If Daye gains weight his best position would be power forward with Charlie V moving to the 4 spot but I guess with their versatile skills it would not matter what each played. Prince may get traded but to what team.

I think Tayshaun would be a good fit for the Clippers if they gave up Chris Kaman..

CV already plays the 4 spot? Do you mean the 5? Do you really think he can play C? That seems like kind of a stretch for him…

Yea Villanueva plays wayyy too soft and weak to play the 5 for any stretches of a game..

I like the idea of Prince playing for the Clippers. The trade would actually work considering both players make nearly the same salary this season. Prince is from Compton, California so it’d be sort of a homecoming for him. He’d be an upgrade over Thornton in my opinion.

He has the potential to have the offensive potency of Rashard Lewis and the defensive skills of Prince

I don’t see Villanueva playing any C, unless the coach wants to give up points in the paint every trip. Villanueva can’t defend any position on the floor really, he is at his best defending the 4 though. He’s too weak for the 5, even though he’s tall.

all i know is i’m excited to see the pistons, this year could be a giant leap towards title contention again. It’s gonna take a while, but i think they’re on the right track.

Daye is going to be real good I can see it he has the skills he can pass and score. I can see him being in the pistons line up in the future because I know Tayshawn isn’t going to stick around any longer

A gonzaga fan i’m really excited for Daye but as of watching him every game you could easily see that when he was down on himself during a game he just shuts himself down. in a way its a bad attitude which could get in his way but i hope it doesnt
