I personally preferred the Hawks as red and yellow, and while I like the style of their current logo, I wasn’t a huge fan of the previous red and yellow version:
It had too much black and brown or something. I love retro basketball, and this is a redesign that is red and yellow and has a nod to an old hawks logo (below):

I don’t know about the stripes. I like their current unis decently enough, but I don’t think they would work as red and yellow. There’s just too many red and blue teams (Hawks, Nets, Sixers, Pistons, Wizards, Clippers), and the Hawks are the easiest to switch.

I like what you do, but i’m not into this one. IMO, the Dominique Wilkins days with the red and yellow are my favorite. Don’t really care much for the ones they have now either.

I actually like the uni’s, the pinestripe edges are pretty dope..
But the logo is terrible, that bird looks pretty retarded

i agree that the hawks adding blue to their colors was stupid. they’ve historically been red and yellow, and with so many teams getting back to their roots as far as color schemes go recently (Wizards, Bucks, Warriors, Pistons, etc.) i didn’t get why they had to add blue. that being said, i like their current uniforms design-wise, so i think a simple recolor to incorpoate gold instead of navy would be fine. as far as the logo, i agree w/mess.eee that it’s wayyyy too cartoon-like. i think a new logo would be better off if it were based on their current alternate logo:
