 Dallas gets: Jeff Teague and Tiago Splitter

Atlanta gets: Wesley Matthews and Memphis’ 16 2nd round pick

I believe this trade works for both sides as Dallas gets a capable starting point guard just 2 years removed from an allstar season and in return atlanta gets a (when healthy) premiere 3 and d wing who could fill in their need for a starting wing left by Demarre Carroll.

Atlanta also includes Splitter for finanial reasons

 Most of the trade ideas here( including mine) are either one sided or doesn’t make sense but this one actually works. The Hawks get a guy who could fill in the void Bazemore did should he go to another team while giving Schroeder the playing time he deserves while the Mavs gets a quality all-star PG and solid center in Splitter.  Why would Dallas want another point guard?  Williams, Barea, Felton, Harris, they had a lot and some should return.  Parsons is a free agent so losing Matthews who plays the 2 and 3 could hurt a lot.

Dallas need more players, Atlanta probably should pick which point guard they want to have lead them and trade the other, but the trade may not work for Dallas.

Trade ideas are needed, but I don’t think this one works for Dallas.  It would also send a message to free agents, that while Dallas might overpay for someone as they did Wes they can quickly get rid of them too.

Actually as a Mavs fan I would do it and would be more afraid that Atlanta won’t do it.
DWill isn’t really healthy and at his age it is risky to think we can count on him as a regular starter.Felton is FA that might not comeback and Barea is a good back up while Harris days as a PG is almost over .he is just an undersized SG
It fills two big needs in one trade while create one whole .so overall I would tend to actually do it
We want Conley but the Spurs are after him so that leave us with little chance to actually get him
But Wesley doesn’t look really good right now.and healthy after Achilles is usually not same healthy b4 it .

Both teams looking to stay in contention, it fills the Mavs need to add some quality and Teague would like being on a big stage, fills the Hawks gap at SF post Carroll moving, allows Schroder to take over the keys and keeps him happy. If Splitter can get fit it gives Dallas another useful big to use in rotation.

D-Will has a player’s option so Dallas have no guarantee that he will stay and at this stage of his career playing from the bench might be a good option for him. If he did opt in might he be moved across as well as he’d be a good senior guy to play around Schroder.

 This is a fantastic trade and definitely works for both teams. A very rare trade idea that is not terribly one sided and/or ignorant, very well done sir.

I almost never throw out trade ideas just because they are so complex to put together to make the trade as fair as possible.

 A lot of trades put on here are far too favourable for one team or between competing teams etc. But this ticks most of the boxes to make a trade work and it is an original idea.

It’s far easier to construct a list of who Boston might flip 3rd pick for or even how far up the draft Atlanta might get if they put Dennis Schroder into play etc.
