Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantIn my opinion, this offseason will be the Afflalo sweepstakes for championship teams. Four teams are in need of his services and could acquire him for the MLE or even a bit less than that.
Los Angeles Lakers: With Shannon Brown possibly leaving for free agency, the Lakers need someone to cover up a glaring hole on the bench at the guard position. Arron Afflalo can come back home and vie for a title. A bench of Barnes, Afflalo, Brown and Odom sounds formidable and consistent. It can bring L.A. back to the Finals next year.
Miami Heat: Yes, I know.. "Do they really need more players". Hey, if you can get Afflalo, it’s a huge boost. Chalmers can be moved back to the bench and a starting rotation of James-Wade-Afflalo-Bosh-(Dalembert or Haslem) would be deadly on the defensive end. Not to mention, the bench gets stronger with many options in Chalmers, Miller, Bibby, Haslem, and Anthony.
Boston Celtics: With Delonte West possibly leaving, they need to cover up a hole at the backup guard position. They haven’t had scoring at that position in quite some time and Afflalo brings exactly what the Celtics want. Defense and 3PT shooting. A perfect fit for a team that still has one or two more runs left in them. And if West stays, the Celtics could have one of the best benches in the league with West, Afflalo, Green, and Davis.
Chicago Bulls: Of all the teams that want Afflalo, Chicago is not one of them. They don’t want him, they NEED him. They desperately need a two-way guard. Yes, they have Korver that provides the 3PT shooting. They have Brewer that provides the defense. They have Bogans that provides defense. So why not Afflalo? He provides two and one. He’s one of the better two-way guards in terms of shooting and of course, defense. He could really be a player that puts an already good defensive team over the hump.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantWell, I’m sure there are several teams that would need his services but I only put in serious title contenders.

I May Be WrongParticipantHe will be heavily persued by many teams looking for that missing piece. IMO, his two best options are Chicago as you mentioned AND OKC. The Thunder are legit contenders and having him instead of Thabo (who can’t hit a shot to save his life) would be huge!

Memphis MadnessParticipantThe Bulls do need Afflalo. He can score and play defense and would give the Bulls a more balanced scoring attack. Rose can get 20-25 a night plus Deng, Boozer, Afflalo, and Noah can give them 14-15 points with a few other guys off the bench to chip in.
Not sure what Shannon Brown is gonna do. Haven’t really thought about it. I guess he might stay in LA. Another good option for him would be Miami as a backup to Wade and Chalmers. Brown can score and attack the basket and also play some defense. He would be a HUGE upgrade over Mike Bibby and would allow Chalmers to start without him having to play heavy minutes. Chalmers could start at point guard and play 25-30 minutes a night with Shannon Brown coming off the bench for 25 minutes a night or more, at either guard position.
Chicago is the best fit for Afflalo and Miami is the best fit for Shannon Brown.
The Lakers would then need scoring off the bench and should look at getting J.R. Smith. He’s an explosive scorer who can really fill it up. If LA takes a swing for the fences, J.R. Smith might be a home run free agent signing.
Wilson Chandler is another key free agent. I think he resigns with Denver since they could probably offer him the most money. If he doesn’t resign there then I think the Bulls need to take a look at him (if Afflalo signs somewhere else).

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantYeah, I was thinking about OKC as well. Especially because they can really go after Shane Battier and Arron Afflalo. Adding two defensive pieces like that and putting them on the floor together with Westbrook, Ibaka, and Perkins could really completely shut down teams.

R-Dot-13ParticipantBulls need him
I would love to see my Raptors grab him though

SwatLakeCityParticipantWell, hate it break it to you, But I’m pretty sure Afflalo is staying in Denver. Many teams may need him, but its all up to him. And the only other place I see him going besides Denver is LA simply because he is from LA. Denver still wants him and frankly they need him too. (Mark my words Denver will have another star. They might as well keep Afflalo for when that happens and they can make a run for another title.)

Memphis MadnessParticipantI hope Shane Battier resigns in Memphis. We really needed him this year and we should be legit contenders next year.
If Afflalo resigns with Denver then do you guys think Chicago should go after J.R. Smith? Great scorer, explosive athlete but is he focused enough and consistent enough?
If Bulls don’t get either of those two then I think they need to go after Wilson Chandler. He’s a good complementary player that can score.
