Carolina once again getting elite talent.  Bacot is the type of big that flourishes in Roy Williams system, a skilled back to the basket rebounding machine.  Not a great athlete, but a skilled big Carolina desperately needs.

And Bacot is close friends with Cole Anthony and is saying that recruiting Cole is one of his top priorities. I have no idea where CA is likely to wind up, but having a close friend of his already committed can’t hurt UNC’s chances.

Crystal ball has duke as the favorite to sign cole.  That was before the heels offered.  A class of cole Anthony, josh green and bacot would put Carolina back on the map for signing elite high school talent.

I think Cole goes to Duke..Everybody wants to play for coach K these days and he’s turning into the king of one and dones..Roy hasn’t put great talent in the NBA in the recent years, that’s why the NBA prospects shy away from UNC.

As the owner of the profile OneAndDone I felt like I should chime in on this one. I find it interesting that Coach K is now viewed as the best one and done guy there is. I assume "these days" refers to post 2015 when they won with Tyus and Jahlil. Since then Duke has had 7 Freshman lottery picks. In the same time span Coach Cal and Kentucky have had 9 (plus WCS). It is still too early to tell for some of the guys who were drafted in the more recent drafts, but Duke’s guys largely havent succeeded in the league. Tatum seems to be the only sure fire star to come out of the group. On the flip side, Booker and Towns have already signed huge Max deals and are looking like stars for the next decade. I appreciate that someone stepped up to challenge Cal in the race for one and dones, but until his guys have success in the league, I think it is irresponsible to pass the torch to Coach K just yet.

Coach K landed the top 3 players in the class of 2018…He’s won a championship with what, like 3 one and dones more recent then  coach Cal..Coach K will have 3 top 10 picks in the draft 2019..HS players will see that and want to go to Duke. Duke has had a player taking in the top 3 in the draft the last four years (Parker, Okafor, Ingram, Tatum)! And should have one this year. These HS kids don’t remember when Anthony Davis team won the championship..

i hear ya man. I’m not trying to argue with you. I certainly agree Coach K has dominated recruiting. Seems to be the place to go right now, and maybe Anthony will go there. Likely even. But as far as taking a highly ranked recruit in and turning them into a successful NBA player in one year, I still think Kentucky has a much better track record.

It’s not arguing bro, it’s good debate 🙂 I’m a Cal fan but I think he makes too many mishaps with the players he got. That KAT team that lost like 1 game, Harrison sould of been on the bench and Ulius should of been playing, that team would of champs that year.

Since that 2015 team, duke has had zero final four appearances and 0 regular season ACC titles.  K puts guys in the league but nobody has done less with more than k in the seasons since his title.  Roy has done more with much less.  Back to back championship games and a title.  Concerning cole, how did Trevon duvalls decision to attend duke work out for him?  Number one point guard in his class, was inconsistent at duke, didn’t develop his game and went undrafted.

Duvall was overrated..would of had the same stats or game at any unversity. A guard who can’t shoot, play D or make his teammates better. "rankings out of high school" can also be overrated. Josh Shelby was the best player in his class, went to Kansas, went pro after his freshman year and didn’t get drafted. He’s been on a milk Cartoon ever since.

       Isaiah Hicks: 5*

      Kennedy Meeks: 4*

      Justin Jackson: 5*

      Theo Pinson: 5*

      Joel Berry: 4*

      Kenny Williams: 4*

      Tony Bradley: 5*

      Seventh Woods: 4*

Luke Maye has done well for a 3* guy, as did Nate Britt to a certain extent, but let’s not go overboard with the more with less narrative.  Roy takes highly ranked players, stagnates their grotwth so that they stay four years, and then wins with highly experienced, highly ranked players (who then go undrafted or drafted very low).
