IndianaBasketballParticipantAnother trade rumor floating around. I read about in on draftexpress. What do you guys think about this potential trade?

MagikKnickParticipantThat’ll be pretty crazy, could see Wall and Arenas meshing, but not so sure about Nelson and Arenas
I guess I like it for Washington, even though VC isnt what he used to be, a Wall-Carter backcourt should be fun to watch

Michael.S.ParticipantNeither team really benefits besided Wiz getting rid of Arenas. That would be their only gain. Will not get the Magic any closer to a championship, honestly. Basically one player past his prime for another player past his prime. Equal production.

the I in winParticipantI saw it on realgm, it’s an interesting idea. Gilbert could be the creator that the magic need and VC has a better contract situation and then you wouldn’t be playing 2 PG’s at once.

JJeff6ParticipantWhy would orlando even consider that?

kaceyParticipantInteresting. Seems as though the Wiz can’t make up their mind on whether they want to go with the Arenas – Wall tandem.

PlatypusParticipantdepends on what they could get for Nelson and how ready Arenas is

AllDayyyParticipantI laffed.
Its really awesome that a majority of threads started on here, come from draftexpress information. makes you pause for thought.

IndianaBasketballParticipantI think it’s a good deal for both teams.
The Wizards get rid of Arenas’ contract and start completely fresh with their new franchise player. VC’s contract isn’t fully guaranteed in 2011-2012 so he’ll be a very attractive expiring contract. The Wizards could save $60+ million with this move. He’d also be a better pairing, more natural two guard, with Wall.
Orlando gets a player who is still a great point guard in my opinion. I don’t think he’s past his prime at all. He’s only 28 years old. The reports are that his knee is completely healed and he’s been working out damn near every day at the Wizards’ practice facility. He needs a fresh start and I think he’d be a good pairing with Dwight Howard.

MagikKnickParticipantThats true AllDay, I usually consider DX a reliable source, but hes put out so much info today, and he seems to be the only one
It does make you think..

D12 – GortatPlus Orlando’s 2 draft picks
Det
Nelson – Bynum (if he’s back)
Stuckey – Rip
Prince (till he’s traded) – Jerebko / Summers
Charlie V (Dumars hasnt quit on him) – Maxiell
Wallace (if he’s back) – Wilcoxplus Detroits draft Picks

the I in winParticipantNot sure if they would want to take on Gordon’s ugly contract right after taking Arenas’s ugly contract.

PlatypusParticipantArenas and Gordons contract would end together giving them 30 mill in relief in 2013 – 2014 and Lewis’s contract the yr before

PurpleMonkeyDishwasherParticipantThere is just to many years left on Arenas contract….. Orlando would end up with the same problem the Wolves had as Cassell and Spreewell aged. To much much money…. to much attiitude…. to much expected… not enough produced….throw in a splash of A.D.D. and a dash of bipolar disease and by the time it was all sorted out Garnett was heading to Boston. In this case Dwight would be the player leaving for greener pastures.
PS Gilberts knees will never be any good again…. his explosiveness is gone forever.0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/23/2010 - 6:15pm #339210

PurpleMonkeyDishwasherParticipantAs soon as Dwight Howards physical skill are gone, so is his NBA career. He’s not like TIm Duncan that will get by for a few extra years on now how. Dwight won’t be able to compensate for the beating his body has taken since he can’t shoot freethrows or make a basket outside 15 ft..

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantDwight’s an athletic player….

——————————————————————————————————————————————-Right just like Marcus Camby and Dikembe Mutombo. I mean once they hit 30 they retired didn’t they?

duhrant35ParticipantAs a Magic fan I really do not want Arenas

PurpleMonkeyDishwasherParticipantBen Gordon is one of the worst +- players in the league. Throw in his large contract and you have Joe Dumars thinking retirement….. add in Charlie V. beating his wife and not the opposition then Detroit really has problems.

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantAs a Magic fan I would only take Arenas for Rashard Lewis. If the Magic are going to take on a huge contract long term let it be for another huge contract long term. It would help us upgrade our backcourt as well.
Would be a pretty sick lineup
PG Gilbert Arenas/Jameer Nelson
SG Vince Carter/JJ Reddick
SF Mikael Pietrus/first round draft pick maybe Damion James, Devin Ebanks, or Stanley Robinson
PF Brandon Bass/Ryan Anderson
C Dwight Howard/Marcin Gortat0 - AuthorPosts
