As a celtics fan I know we are trying to get a bigger name but Okafor or Noel seem to be legit options for the number 3 pick.  We have absolutely no big men and the best player in the lottery after simmons and ingram is Kris Dunn.  I watched him a couple times in person hes fast, plays good defense and has great court vision. His assist total would have been much higher is he had better teammates.  Rumors are the 76ers can’t trade into the top 5 right now and the only reason I can think of is GM’s are refusing to deal with the 76ers because of the recent tanking.  Celtics could use either player right now and the fan base would be ecstaic over either one.  Noel is the perfect fit for the T’wolves. He hustles, plays great d and passes perfect when you have 2 guys who need the ball wiggins and KAT and thibs is your coach a much more athletic Noah. not sure if either player fits with the suns but the suns are in such a weird spot right now who does fit with them.  Unless all these teams are holding out to trade for a veteran I don’t understand why else the 76ers can’t get into the top 5.

If a GM thinks a player can help their team win and the value is equal, they will trade for them. Being pissed at another GM/Team because of tanking is irrelevant.

GM’s could care less about what Hinkie did the last few years, they most likely added wins to their Teams record…

The ones pissed at Philadelphia were the Agents of mediocre talent, talent that could have been signed to lucrative deals but Hinkie bulked at those ideas…

Be patient, a deal will get done

deal – as he Should ——–  Aigne knows he can pull the trigger on Noel or Okafor #3 anytime he wants —-

It’s ironic b/c just a few months ago that Nets pick was Not enough for Oakfor or Noel.

So Aigne is Already ahead of the game – this is a Weak Draft & he’s going to get a very good starting Center for a #3 pick in a Weak Draft

He is smart for holding out & trying to get Butler – if he can’t get a Star, he’ll make the trade w/ Phila on draft night.

While I am sure both camp are trying to get as much as they can for their assets, this expected trade will expire tomorrow night and the team that it would  hurt the most not to do it are the Celtics.

The 6ers are a losing team with lots and lots of rookies, and they are probably picking one or two talents in the lottery next season with the Lakers and their own pick.

Their designated franchise player Joel Embiid could be injured again or a bust and keeping Okafor and Noel would be great in that case.

When introducing key rookies like Simmons, Embiid and Saric the 6ers might prefer to recruit a veteran or two via FA or via trade than a beloved rookie PG like Dunn.

The Celtics want to up their game right now, and any relevant pick that is not a guard available at 3  is the 70% bust Dragan Bender.

The 6ers have too many bigs ok, but the Celtics have too many young guards and too many draft picks as well… Remember a roster only consist in 15 players.

Also, the #3 pick is probably interesting very few teams right now, and I don’t think you can get a better player than Okafor out of the deal. Maybe a Monroe + #10 from bucks? I would never accept that if I were the Celtics but it seems like the other kind of deal on the table for #3…

In reality you should expect the 6ers to get #3 and something extra for Okafor, that won’t be Bradley because he is the core veteran in the celtics team. Okafor is a former #3 pick that was considered a steal at that point and that has not disappointed, trading him for this year below average #3 + another 1st round pick and maybe a veteran will already be a steal for the Celtics, and they know it.

A lot of folks here said philly would be smart to trade okafor for Jeff Teague. Now we’re getting the 3, a #1 and bradley. Waiting is working huh?
