valentineIf he gets a jumper, watch out.
His handles on the break are ridiculous, his change of sudden speed and ability to time defenses is a SKILL.
His ISO game is very good…. slashing ability overall is good because of skill. Looks how many players are as athletic as Goodwin and don’t have Goodwin’s game,
Taking into consideration his age he is a way better prospect than a 36th pick. The most underrated. I don’t doubt he stunk up shooting workouts, what did you expect? If he develops a jumper he could very well be the SG in the draft.

realkerrykittles30Participanti have him going to OKC in the 1st round Late pick. He can sit and watch Westbrook and Jackson then blossom into and pitbull like Eric Bledsoe.

i’m jus so offendedParticipantUmmmm he is actually the opposite of skilled. Pure athlete, not a whole lot more at this point. And having a jumper is probably the top skill needed in the NBA right now, sooooo Archie has some work to do.

kaceyParticipantI agree.
Athletic yes, but he didnt show the desire to be the perimeter defender that UK needed last year. Has the tools to get there, just needs the right work ethic and coaching. Most people may have forgot, but he was hitting jumpers early in the season, once SEC conference play started, he hit a slump and it was easy to see that he lost confidence in his jumper. I always thought his mechanics were poor, flat jumper, no arch. Finishes strong, but also plays a little erratic at times. Over dribbled on occasions, but that could be attributed to the lack of playmakers UK had.
He is a difficult one to mock. He has first round potential, but played like a second rounder. If a team thinks thy can untap the potential, then he could probably be grabbed early second round. His young age is a definite plus.

MopgrassParticipantHe’s a great clutch player and he’s totally unafraid… luckily he has the hops to back it up.
I like his shooting form and I think the numbers will eventually be there if he’s handled right. I think Ben McLemore is the only SG has more potential (depending on who you think is a SG).

Mr. 19134ParticipantEasily the most underrated prospect in thr draft in my eyes. How many Americans were still 18 by the time they were drafted sinxe the one and done rule? Jrue Holiday is the only player that easily comes to mind and we all saw the physical maturity he’s undergone. Goodwin got the requisite body and athleticism ti vecome a stud and a game that’s tailored for the NBA. Goodwin is fast with good handles and crazy length for his position.
Guards that are that athletic, with good ball handling and a 6’10 wingspan almost always make an impact. Its them attributes among others that make Wade, Harden, and Ecens so good.
I think his floor is Rodney Stuckey while his potential is Evans rookie year.
Really think he’d be a great fit for the Spurs at the end of the first as he won’t turn 19 til August and can learn behind Parker and Manu while growing with Leonard and Joseph.

mamadouParticipantHoliday was 19 but still the “youngest”(rubio was younger but stashed).
Since 2008, Randolph 18, Favors 18, biyombo 18(officially), and then all my mens in 2011-2012…tobias harris 18, MKG-Drummond 18 and Beal 19 on draft day.
When goodwin was a 15-16 pts 5 rebs 4 assists 7FTA…18 YO frosh SG in a dysfunctionnal team, that was pretty solid to me.
In such a weak draft without number one, at that young age, you’re a 2nd rounder…OK.0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/25/2013 - 3:30am #805069

toseward24ParticipantI think Goodwin could end up being the BEST player in this whole draft. 5 years from now…. think a very young Dwayne Wade. Yes, I said it.

lockdownDThat ‘NBA 2 and half step’ he can very easily pull off, is a skill.

SiggyParticipantSkilled isn’t the word I’d use to describe him either. He’s raw and toolsy but he does have a specific attribute that should be attractive to NBA teams: he has very good first step, blow by ability. How many SGs in this draft have that? He plays with the aggressiveness to take advantage of that ability as well. I’d prefer a first step, straight line driver over a player who plays with the ball to create jump shots, dribbling multiple times in place, not possessing the ability to consistently turn the corner.
The trajectory on his shot is bad, but his actual form is not. I don’t think his shot is beyond repair. Teams are put off by the finish to his season, which is why I have him in the 2nd round in my mock, but on talent alone I’d still consider him a 1st rounder and would have him somewhere in the early to mid 20s on my big board.

The Scare Crow RisesParticipantI think 11th is too high for him to get picked but 35th seems too low, I wouldn’t mind a super athletic wing right now, if he ever develops the other parts of his game he could very scary…He and Ledo are on my 2nd round radar but should be lottery picks, they have the potential to shock a lot of people…
