As a stalwart fan of Archie Goodwin, I am pleased to see that he has caught on with Brooklyn.  After two 10 day contracts, the team has given Archie a multi-year deal.

Archie’s stats weren’t that great for the first 3 years of his NBA career.  But he was improving in Phoenix, and was starting to show some growth in his game, and improvement in his shooting.  I’ve watched some of his Brooklyn minutes and he looks really cofortable and smooth on the court.  He is shooting well, and he is as athletic and strong as ever.

THough the regular season is almost over, it seems that Goodwin has a spot for next year and this may be the opportunity that he needs to fit in and showcase his improving game.

I really hope so. Even though he was part of the most disappointing year of Kentucky basketball ever (rivaling all of Billy Gillespie’s tenure), I still am a fan and want him to succeed. I thought New Orleans would’ve been a good spot for him to showcase his abilities but hopefully Brooklyn will give him some run

I’m actually amazed Archie got a call up when he did. Saw him up close and personal a few times with the Greensboro Swarm and came away unimpressed each time. He is quick, no doubt about it, but can’t shoot it or make good decisions with the ball. For his tools he also doesn’t bring much defensively either. Much more deserving D-Leaguers who need a shot IMO.

How does he fit there with Dinwiddie, Whitehead, Levert and RHJ. I havent watched them play in a while for obvious reasons.
