MkadozaParticipantBK ballers topic got me thinking… we’re reasonable people here right..? >_>;
Well I decided to start a topic where you can concede point that you were wrong about, or at least correction to your opinion.
I’d like to start with an apology to Jason Kidd. Every year we talk about how he’s not the same player he was, how he lost a step. Well yeah, he’s older, but he’s as smart, savvy, and effective on the offensive end as he’s always been. He averaged 9 assists, pulled down close to 6 boards, and shot 42% percent on 173 threes made. Thats pretty damn good. Since hes been in Dallas, hes never shot below 40% from 3, and most importantly, continues to play his game his way. Constant dribbling, using his superior strength and IQ to manipulate defenders into opening up lanes.. and even though he can’t stay in front of the quicker guard like he used to, he’s still difficult to shoot over, impossible for must guards to post, and still plays the passing lanes as well as anyone in the league.
By the end of this year, he’ll move into the top 10 in minutes played in the league, and with Rondo’s play being so widely praised, I thought I’d give a shout out to the guy that fathered his style while we can still enjoy his unparalleled court vision and ugly as all hell jump shot, cause I for one will miss it when its gone.

llperezi appologize to steph curry. I watched him about a dozen times in college and i did not think he had the quickness to play point, the defense to gaurd sg’s and the overall one on one game to excel in the nba. I compared him to a better version of eddie house. For that, i appologize to steph curry.

doubledribblerParticipantOnce the playoffs start you will be kicking yourself for apologizing to Jason Kidd.
I would like to apologize to Chris Bosh for thinking he would be better than what he will be. I think my expectations were too lofty. I thought you could average a double double this year and maybe step up on the defensive end considering you no longer have to attempt to be the man or the focus that you would be freed up to do other things. You know and we all know that you were not made for that role of the man. You are a follower. I watched you all offseason follow Wade around like a lap dog. He would sign autographs and you would step back. Some might have thought you were a really tall body guard. I thought you finally found your place riding behind two superstars. Unfortunately, you still don’t rebound well for a guy your size and you still play no defense. Your super friends are carrying you. I didn’t expect you to score 20+ points a game, but I think your team would be happy with you putting in 16 and 12 and shooting efficiently. I really thought the toughest tranisition would be with Wade and Lebron. You were the guy that had it easy. Wade and Lebron are excellent defenders and can keep their guys in front of them so that’s less work for you and both are excellent passers so there should be no problem finding you around the basket or for a jumpshot. I’m just sorry Chris. By the way don’t look back because Rondo and all 6’1" 170lbs of him is catching up to you on the rebounds.

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantFor sleeping with his sister…Lol…Naw for real…I’m a say sorry to Wilson Chandler…he’s been balling lately and looks like a keeper/sleeper…I also didn’t think too much of Steph Curry as an NBA point guard…I thought he’d be a 3pt shooter off the bench his whole career…he’s definitly not a bench guy any more…

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantAre they 2 of the chicks from the Golden Girls…They must be the ones voting for Mrs. Brady on Dancing with the Stars…Yeah Wilson is probally trying to play his way outta New York and into a fat new deal…After that workout scandal where he’s one of the players involved it would be awkward being there after a few months…He’s looking like a good piece in a trade…I still think the Nuggets want AR,Wilson and Curry’s deal…With a third team taking Gallo for a first rounder….

bkballerParticipantAs a Knick fan that was against trading all three, I think I am ok with it now. With Fields, Douglas and Mozgov proving to be rotation players and Azibukee coming back soon they should have enough depth even after the trade.

JNixonParticipantSteph Curry fooled me. I thought he’d be an instant offense type of guy. I compared him to Jannero Pargo.
Also, I thought Nick Young would break out last year. I used to always say Young had 1st option scoring potential, but now I realize he’s not smart enough to realize it and he doesn’t look to do anything besides shoot all the time. I apologize for making Young out to be better than he’ll ever be.

I apologize for Kevin Love for thinking how lopsided that deal with OJ Mayo and him on draft night… Looking back at it now, the Wolves got a very good player who is a rebounding demon…not to mention the skills he own.. He is the modern day Unseld…
I apologize for thinking that Tyson Chandler would be the next Kevin Garnett and Eddy Curry would be the next Shaq when they were with the Bulls…(biiiig sigh)..
I apologize for thinking Marvin Williams can be a 21 and 8 player…

llpereztim duncan won mvp in 2002. That year tim averaged 26ppg…13rpg…4apg…2.5blck playing all 82 games and was first team defense. Kidd averaged 15pppg…7rpg…10apg…2stl while playing all 82 and making 1st team defense. Kidd also shot a very poor 39% from the field to duncans 51%. They both had great years and were on very good teams. I thought duncan derved it though. He was more of a go to player who could take over games on his own. Kidd even in his prime wasnt a halfcourt give me the ball and im gonna get us 2 points kinda guy. Kidd made everyones job easier and filled the stat sheets. BUt he was never the type of guy that other teams feared to just go out there and rip his opponents hearts out or single handidly decide the outcome. The lakers played both of those guys in the playoffs that year and tim was much more scary and tougher to match up with.

marcusfizer21ParticipantButI’d like to think the impact that Kidd had on the Nets was huge… I mean, NOBODY expected them to make it as far as the Finals… Nobody even had them talking in the summer… It was more of Jason Kidd’s presence that changed the whole culture of the Nets… They were the laughingstock of the league along with the Clippers… Byron Scott was a good coach but I don’t think he’s the reason why the Nets were winning as they should because if he was the reason, then he should have been to the playoffs when his point guard was Stephon Marbury who was also a very good point guard at that time (though the two players have different style of plays) but still, I think J-Kidd’s impact alone with Nets should have made him worth the MVP in 2002…

Tyreke JohnsonParticipantApologies to Blake Griffin, you being out last season made me totally forget how much of a great player you are and how you and Cousins can challenge Wall for ROY award this season
Apologies to Derrick Rose, on how much I underrated your progression, I always knew you were a phenomenal player and had superstar potential but I never realized you would rise to a new level in just your third NBA season
Apologies to the Boston Celtics, I have to hand it to you, I never expected you to make it to the NBA finals last season let alone taking my Lakers to 7 games AND almost beating them, every year your one year older yet you all find a way to get it done, Rondo’s emergence as a star is a factor though.
