Anybody watching this? Hell of a game, Kings came back from 20 down to have possession with 4.6 and a tie game. Hope somebody has been watching possibly the last game for the Kings, it’s been pretty awesome.

It’s hard for me to watch the Kings play. Collectively they have the lowest basketball IQ in the NBA, hands down.

I say that everytime I watch the Kings play and I’m not exaggerating in the least.

The oldest member on their team is 29. Which is Samuel Dalembert. The rest of them are very young, and so far no coach has truly been able to harnest their potential. Despite this they still produce results everytime they play. Who are you to say they have the lowest basketball IQ? Even if they did, they are all super young. And they still manage show potential. They finished this season strong. It may look like just 24 wins to anyone else. But several of those wins came over teams that had a lot more to play for than they did.

Just wanted to point out Sammy D was playing really good D when switched onto Bryant, bothered him with his length and moved his feet well. I hope Dalembert sticks around with the Kings/whoever so they have that shot-blocking/altering rebounder until Whiteside is ready to go.

They play hard, but they play stupid. Samuel Dalembert is their oldest player, and he has one of the lowest basketball IQs in the NBA. Tyreke Evans in that overtime period would jack up some stupid shot every time he touched the ball. He had one pass in the overtime period (it was late when the Kings were down by nine) and at least four horrible ill-advised shots (all misses).

Ironically, the player with the highest basketball IQ on the team might be DeMarcus Cousins…

Kobe doing work as always. Thorton isn’t a surprise,he scored like that in college, he was just on the wrong team because him and wille green are the same player. Yes the franchise soon to be formally known as the Sacramento Kings have some talent,but thats part 1,now its up to the front office to make the right moves with the talent.

As a Kings fan if that was the last game then im proud of this team and organization. They have been such a great part of our city and it was definitely on display by the fans. I can only hope that they can stay.

I agree with NoMoney I watched this game and I watched the last game they played from start to end. They mke some extremely horrible plays, especially Francisco Garcia. That guy is a complete joke, walking around like he is about to break the refs jaw…why dont you smile you get paid millions. But anyways back to the bonehead plays, they just dont end with this team. Either Samy D is jacking up a horrible shot, or its Evans or like in this game it was Thompson. No structure at all…when Cuz was with Calipari he was limited minutes, and forced to be a dominate inside Center, here he jacks up bad shots, turns the bball over on drive etc.

They are within the Top 15 talented teams in the NBA, but they are within the bottom 3 intelligent teams in the NBA, which would probally be Minnesota, Sacramento and Washington

Great effort, lots of heart they played with, and great showing for the fans. Kobe sort of just killed them thou…really brought them to earth, and it was nothing for him. Not only do I doubt he even sweat but he never flinched either, until he had to argue a 3-pointer when his foot was on the line.

Who would you call the worst?

I watch a lot of basketball and the Kings are more consistent in their stupidity than any other team this year.

That might sound harsh, but it can get better. Several years ago the OKC Thunder played very hard for 48 minutes, but they made so many boneheaded decisions (especially down the stretch of games). At the time, I considered them the dumbest team in the NBA (unless that was the year the Clippers had Baron Davis and Zach Randolph). Anyway, just one season later the Thunder made the playoffs.

The Kings need to look at becoming a smarter team by trading some of these knuckleheads and acquiring some veterans.

I agree that Kings do have some players who lack discipline, but I also think the lack of a real floor general is the reason they are often disorganized on offense and plays alot of one-on-one. They really need to upgrade from Beno Udrih.

This is sad to me that it is my first comment on here after watching what could be the last game I ever see in Sacramento. Who gives a flying shit about the collective basketball IQ of the 2010-2011 Kings. Who the fuck else did you want to take the shots in overtime? Let me give you guys a little hint, it had to be one of the five players on the floor at the time. You can complain about how they missed the almost exclusivley open shots that Tyreke and Thompson took but if they would have made them people would be talking about how they just beat the defending champs. It does not matter what the people who have watched all of seven Kings games this year think of their play in the closing minutes, because in the end it changes jackshit. If you want to talk about something talk about how cool it was to see the passion in the players tonight, to see the Arena rocking again for what could be one last time, or even how Kobe hit another clutch shot. But to come out and start to talk shit about a team whose city is on the verge of losing the only major league team they have ever really known is pretty fucking tacky.

They do have a low basketball IQ. If they passed the ball once or twice in overtime they might have been able to win the game. Tyreke Evans has a horrible shot selection.

I’m not talking sh*t about the team. They just do not play smart. Simple. I said the same thing after they won their last game, they team doesn’t play intelligent basketball.

As was mentioned, Wizards are pretty awful in terms of IQ.

I think the Kings are just undisciplined/inexperienced, not that they have a low IQ, if you think of bball IQ as a stable thing. They just need to learn how to close out games and be more consistent, I don’t think there’s a fundamental deficit in their IQ, they are just young, like the Thunder were.

Better coaching and a few more years experience are what they need; though you’re right, a few veterans wouldn’t go astray.

And you’re right. I mentioned that the Kings should get better in time. Kyrie Irving might make a lot of sense for them if they can score a top-2 or 3 pick. Of course, Evans and Thornton will have to cede some of their ball-dominance and that might cause problems as well…

I see discipline and experience both as factors in determining basketball IQ. If you don’t, what do you think does and how have the Kings shown they have it?

I said they will always suck if they don’t try to get smarter and I certainly never called them terrible. The decisions they make down the stretch are terrible, but the team is not terrible.

Utah isn’t going anywhere, but I don’t live in Utah and never have (I’m not a Mormon either). So I think I’ll be okay either way.

And the Jazz are going to suck until they lose Al Jefferson.

"Basketball IQ" and "intangibles" are hard to define. Clearly people have different definitions of those two terms, but I think if Sacramento had some of either one, they could have been a much better team.

If Sacramento loses it’s franchise than I feel for them. They’ve had some great moments and teams there. However, I do not think I am not out of line in saying that they if they had a higher basketball IQ, they might have been able to win a few more games (like this one, for example).

You might be numb to it being a Kings fan and all but there are some simple unwritten rules when dealing with refs at any level of any sport.

-Never blatently disagree with them (if you disagree with a call dont tell them it was shit, ask what you can do better next time, or what you did wrong, nod your head and keep it moving)

-Never threat a referee or make him feel uncomfortable on the court

-Never make a referee hate you, thats not a guy you want as your enemy

Garcia broke those rules. All season long the Kings broke those rules. They may not get any calls, but do you wonder why. After any play that doesnt go thier way they bitch and complain. They make enemies ith the refs. Not smart at all.

seriously, that game meant more to me then most any nba regular season game. I lived in sacrmento for 7 years and still have friends and family there and visit regularly. Im by no means a kings fan, but i respect the city and the fans and it sucks to see them leave the city. Im glad the last game was vs my lakers and it cvame down to a battle with kobe hitting the big shots. My brother in law, who is a huge kings fan and season ticket holder and was at the game, texted me afterwards "did i ever tell you i hate kobe". But in all seriousness, i hope some drastic last second change happens and the city can keep the kings. Sac is a 1 sport town and it wont be the same with the kings.
