darkman97ParticipantWe have a NBDL Leage in North America how about putting one on each continent? Basketball is global and you can’t tell me there are only two Chinese people that can make it to the NBA. NBA is around 80% black and not to many from Africa. South America and Australia have a few players each. But if we had a NBDL league on each continent then they can get proper NBA training without leaving the comforts of their homes. Can anyone see this happening? Good idea or bad idea?

tli232Most African Countries simply do not Have the infrastructure or FDI to sponsor a legit basketball team, let alone an entire league. In Asia, Europe and other continents, they already have their own domestic leagues, regardless of their talent level. Why would Fans watch the NBADL Asia if they already love their own league, which would be better basketball because there are more established players there.
Here’s the deal with your idea: their simply aren’t enough NBA level players in the world to have a league on every continent. think about it, how many people in China actually provided good NBA level competition for Yao Ming to practice against?
Another thing: take africa for example, how many skilled african players actually developed their skills in Africa? NONE! They all had the Athleticism, but not the fundamental skills. They either learned the game of basketball in Europe or in college. Hence, it is prudent to keep in ming that with this idea, there are inter-continental differences in style of play and coaching.
Now that we’re talking about coaching, How many coaches are there in the world that know how to teach young players effectively enough for the NBA? very few. That’s why you see kids leaving their hometown to play at a good prep school like Oak Hill Academy.
No offense man, but your idea, while optimistic, is truly unrealistic
