Who do we think the biggest winners and/or losers in the draft were???
I like what the Atlanta Hawks did in the draft…
Not sure about the Lakers one way or another.

Lakers got the two best undrafted guys in my eyes on two ways in Joel Ayayi and Austin Reaves.

Not surprising a lot of 2nd round to undrafted guys have been doing that the last couple of years as they rather choose the team they go to on a two way then having a team have their rights since the 2nd round you don’t get a guarenteed contract it makes sense to rather go undrafted and be able to pick your team.

Its hard to follow the trades but this draft just has so many winners. Hard to lose with so much talent available.

    Hornets getting Bouknight and Jones.

    Hawks getting Johnson and Cooper.

Nets getting Cameron Thomas is amazing. Gets to practice with three of the best iso players the league has ever seen and also learn from Joe Harris on how to play off the ball. They are gonna groom him into a failsafe for this big 3.

76ers nail another draft. Springer and Petrusev added to the 3rd best team in the league. They have one of the best young cores.

Aldama to the Grizzlies is a steal, although I’m not a fan of their Ziare WIlliams pick.

Jokubaitas for the Knicks was a sneaky pick (probably spelled it wrong) is gonna be one of the best picks in this draft. He’s playing for Barcelona next year but will probably be a featured player and will have some hype around him in a year or two.

    Wieskamp to the Spurs…

I don’t like to question the Spurs’ picks but if they were going with a wing, taking Primo over Moody, Kispert, Keon Johnson and others shocked me. The Spurs usually take no-brainer picks who fall to them for ambiguous reasons, rather than reaching for guys. Of course it’s harder to find guys who’ve fallen a long way when you’re picking in the lottery. I guess they figured none of those wings are likely breaking into the lineup next season, so they went with who they thought had the most raw potential.

I think Orlando, Golden State, Charlotte & Indiana did really well.

Two biggest winners to me are Charlotte and Golden State.
Scottie Barnes, Trey Murphy III and Ayo Dosunmu are also winners for landing at the perfect spot for them.
Jazz getting Jared Butler at 40 plus a 2nd round pick is also a W.
Loser to me are the Grizzlies for reaching some projects.

Warriors are the biggest losers. I mean they got Kuminga and Moody so its not all bad but thats not what they wanted.

This is what I think happened.

For a second year in a row they wanted a trade. It never presented itself. With the picks they missed twice. At 7 they wanted Giddey and at 14 they wanted Duarte. When Kuminga was available they pulled the trigger hoping to use it as trade bait instead of picking Bouknight. Then Bouknight got picked at 12, Duarte at 13 and they settled with Moody.

I don’t think Kuminga will work in Golden State. Theres just too much to learn. Now they have two players they picked in the top 7 that don’t fit their system. The Moody pick is fine though.

The Biggest Losers was Anyone who posted a pre-draft Mock..All those unexpected trades & selections.

And the Kings selecting another point guard, threw everyone off.I guess they got confused after their guy Wagner got chosen a pick earlier.
Everyone assumed becuz Leon Rose’s son was Garuba’s agent and Garuba being the best defensive big man and knowing Thibs obsession with defense .It seems like he would be a perfect fit for the Knicks .Warriors GM Meyers stated after the lottery they wanted shooters.

Davion Mitchell is a really good player so you can’t really say Kings are losers for taking them but with so many great option them picking another guard while having Fox and Haliburton is a real headscratcher even if they do manage to trade Buddy Hield. I even think there were better gaurds available to be honest, but that doesn’t mean much since this draft is so deep and thats just an opinion.

Davion Mitchell is probably the biggest loser fit wise.

Orlando was the biggest winner for me. Suggs should be an franchise changer as well .I liked Atlanta pick in the 20s.. Then I think the Kings did well taking BPA in Mitchell… who’s severely underrated. Brooklyn also did well

    . Losers:
-OKC: Giddey at Nº6 and Tre at 18¿? Horrible.
-TOR: they are going to regret for years taking Barnes instead of a lider like Suggs. Barnes averages 4Rb/g, 0’7 Bl per 40min, 2’5TO in just 25min/g, 62% FT and 27% 3P…
    . Winners:
-ORL: getting Suggs at Nº5 was a home run, Wagner very solid pick.. if J.Isaacs recovers well this team not only will be one of the best defensive teams in the league but one of the top teams in the East in 3 years.
-CLE: this team probably got the player with most upside in the draft.. HOU got a good scorer but CLE got an impactful player. Rockets will regret.
-GSW: Warriors will make a trade in a few days for sure and having Kuminga at Nº7 plus Moody at 14 as tradable chips combined with Wiseman will get them any player they want.
ATL: JJ at Nº20 has to be a joke… this kid is a Top5 in terms of talent..
    . So So:
    – HOU: I really think they’ve made a huge mistake taking Green instead of such a potential impactful player like Mobley or such a lider like Suggs, but in the other hand they hit home runs taking Sengun&Garuba at 16&23.
MEM: Ziaire at Nº10 is a reach but Aldama at 30 is a steal, this kid will be an All-Star one day.

I agree. The thunder made the most headscratching picks.

Apparently Jalen Johnson’s decision to quit half way through the year didn’t pay off. I was stunned he fell to no. 20. He looks really really good.

The kings and Knicks new management seems to be doing a good job. Neemias Queta (kings pick #39) is a legit 7 foot. He really talented. Miles McBride for the Knicks is going to be a good one. He can score!
