will compete for spots on the USA Senior Men’s National Team.  I think the guards are pretty set, although Rose is out, but he’s a point and Harden is a 2.  I think Davis has a real good chance to make the team ala Christian Laettner in 1992.  His size and length would be a big advantage, and because Howard is out after back surgery, I think Anthony would be a great addition to the team.

Yeah, I don’t see Harden making it, not a knock on him at all but with Bryant and Wade, they’re not going to need another SG.  I really want to see Anthony Davis make it, I think it would be great to start his career learning defense behind Tyson Chandler and offense behind Chris Bosh.  (I’ve been saying Anthony Davis can be a combination of Bosh on offense and Camby on defense for a while now).  It would also help him to get some coaching from Coach K and learn a bit from of work ethic from Kobe, LeBron, and Chris Paul.

Harden will get his time on it. Not enough room for him right now. I can see this as a great experience for Davis if he makes it

This is definetely exciting to see young up and comers get a shot at cracking the USA roster. Its also exciting to see that theyre playing Puerto Rico in exhibition at UNLV on July 12. With tickets starting at $10, I might have to catch a flight out there this summer to see some USA hoops.

they will fight for the minutes behind Wade at SG. I think a healthy Gordon gets the spot due to better outside shooting. If Miami goes deep and Wade, Lebron, Bosh dont want to commit, both Harden and Davis should get spots.

Who are you talking about the only play named Gordon who can shoot better than Harden is Ben Gordon and he does not seem like a good fit?

I think Anthony Davis has a real shot. I said so a couple of weeks ago. He is athletic, versatile, and a good defensive
force. Bill Simmons advocated him in his mail bag last week.

James Harden is definitely worth a look too. Very versatile and I can see him being a great player for Team USA going forward.
He can match the diverse skill set of some of the other international greats like Manu Ginobili.

With Rose and Howard out, that removes two great players for Team USA but it still should be a loaded team.

His injury history makes him a risk the Lakers wont allow him to compete, Stoudemire had the same problem in 2010 when signing with the Knicks

Bynum would not be as effective in international rules either because of the wider lane and closer 3pt line
