montauriush4ParticipantIf New Orleans Hornets draft Austin Rivers and Anthony Davis how do you think they will work out.

SpacegrassParticipantOnly draft Rivers if you know Gordon is going to take a big offer that the Hornets don’t want to match. Rivers would be a decent choice , though I would go with someone who may be a more prolific 3 point shooter from the SG position if the Hornets go that way. I would say either Jeremy Lamb or Terrence Ross , but I could see Rivers developing a more consistent long range jumper as well.

UNCbasketballbumParticipantIs it just me or does montauriush post a ton about Austin Rivers?

juice304ParticipantI like this combo just cuz Rivers has the potential to be an explosive scorer and Davis is a beast on the boards and protecting the paint. Overall these two compliment each other really well, but like someone above said they need to know what is going on with E.Gordon before they draft Rivers. If Gordon is healthy and still on the team, then they should probably grab Kendall Marshall or Lillard if they are available.

Cosbysweater7ParticipantI like this combo enterntainment wise, but if they re-sign Gordon, I dont really see the need to draft Austin Rivers. If they keep Gordon, I would take Marshall over Lillard because he is more of a pass-first pure point guard.

KHAM83ParticipantI’m pretty sure NO said they’ll give him a max, so they’ll definitely match any offer. Not sure if that was before the team was actually sold though.

Sewok15ParticipantI would not match an offer of 10 million a season for Gordon let alone give him a max contract. You just got the number one pick so you have a new franchise player…a player much more condusive to a winning brand of basketball. I would let Gordon walk if he wants to and draft somebody like Waiters,Ross or Rivers to be your SG of the future and save money to bring in a good free agent PG. I am sure in a couple years they will be lining up to want to come to New Orleans and play with Anthony Davis.
