    5-star point guard Anthony "Cat" Barber has committed to NC State!

    WOW big time pick up for NCSU. Mark Gottfried has done a FANTASTIC job in just a couple years.

     thing i like best about him, his steadiness.  Never panicks or tries to do to much, just lets the game come to him.  Excited for the Wolfpack!!!

    NC State has to be sick of playing second fiddle to Carolina.  With the talent Gottfried has coming to Raleigh, State should be in the thick of the ACC race for the next couple years.

     Great pickup for NCSU. It probably also means that they definitely do not expect Lorenzo to come back for his senior season. I personnally feel that he is a little bit overated at this point. He is one of those guys who really rise high on rankings in short period time and then everyone cool off a bit and they get little bit down. Similarly like Mitch McGarry rose to the top 3 in one summer from nowhere but still ended at the bottom of top 30 on the latest rankings.

    I feel that Barber is very good prospect on his own but more in 15-25 range than top 10 or 15. Andrew Harrison totally destroyed him in their matchup, I believe. Although, as Mr. Bossi or whoever who writes for Rivals basketball said , after Parker, Randle, Harrisons, Gordon  who are clearly better than the rest ( though Hill , Walker and Young also probably belongs to that top of the cream) players from 9 to 15 or even 20 on rankings are at pretty much the same level.

      I really like this kid but yeah I agree he is a little bit overrated. I think he should really be in that 20+ range not top 10. Still he is lightning quick with the ball and can get into the lane at will.

      Duke didn’t offer him for various reasons that I won’t really delve into because it doesn’t matter anymore. But how sick would it be to see a Barber and Purvis backcourt.

      It seems like the ACC is on the rise…if the Harrison twins opt for Maryland and Wiggins shocks everyone and goes to FSU, with the addition of Syracuse and Pitt, the ACC will be back on top in 2013.

    Funny thing is I’ve heard from various posters on websites that he was quoted as to saying Duke was his dream school and if they offered him he would commit, but they didnt offer him because they want Tyus Jones, who may or may not choose Duke. Him and Jahlil Okafor want to play together in college, so I think Calipari gets them in a package deal. Stupid Duke.

    Would’ve loved him at KU, but I’m not terribly upset he didn’t commit.  Seems like a 1v1 guy with a little street in his game, and those guys never really fit too well in Self’s system.

     Are we gonna sit here and not discuss Tyler Lewis???? Tyler Lewis is gonna be good, he might pull a Ryan Harrow and Transfer out of there, but i doubt it. He posted on his twitter talking bout congrats to Cat Barber. idk what hes excited about because Cat could keep him on the bench. Tyler has to get faster and score better, but his passing and playmaking is Steve Nash type. He will learn from Zo Brown this year but nex year the PG spot is up for grabs
