WizardofOzParticipantI know someone just made a Wiz/Jazz trade idea, but that topic gave me another idea. I know this might be a bad idea, because trade ideas on this site are always flamed but I’ll give it a shot. And I really think this trade helps both teams.
Jazz trade: #3 pick and Mehmet Okur
Jazz receive: #6 pick, #18 pick, and #34 pickWizards trade: #6 pick, #18 pick, and #34 pick
Wizards receive: #3 pick and Mehmet OkurWhy for the Jazz?: By the trading for Okur, it gives the Jazz almost $11 Million in cap relief THIS YEAR… Frees up additional minutes for Derrick Favors and with the #6 pick, they should still be able to get their guy in the draft (It’s rumored they like Brandon Knight and/or Kemba Walker, or they can take another prospect they might like), and I think that both of those guys are an upgrade over Harris. And the Jazz receive two more picks to jumpstart the rebuild.
Why for the Wiz?: It is very important that the Wiz get a starting-caliber player with their first pick, and they don’t need a PG, so they move up to get Kanter. Personally I don’t think Kanter should be picked this high, but he’s the better fit for the Wiz than any other team, and there aren’t many other players that fit well other than him. And maybe Okur can mentor Kanter since they’re both Turkish.
Thoughts?

The White MambaParticipantKanter would love this deal. It would let him play power forward and for the wizards, both things he was publicly expressed interest in.

rileymcshea3Participantwhy would Okur mentor Kanter when Kanter is a back to the basket with great post moves while Okur is a knock down shooter from the 3

I wasn’t really considering playing style. Kanter still isn’t very fluent when speaking English, so I think it would help to have another person that speaks his language.

lukestine13ParticipantDude wont happen period. expiring contracts arent as valuable until the trade deadline gets closer. Besides that would be four rookies counting the no. 12 that you gotta pay so doesnt really save much money. If KOC traded any piece he got in the DWILL deal it should be Harris. I don’t know that many jazz fans that really like him. If he traded the no. 3 their would be some pissed of jazz fans.

rileymcshea3ParticipantUdoh was the 6th pick last year and get payed 3 milion a year Henry was the 12th pick last year and makes 2 milion a year so obviously the 18th and 34th pick will get payed less then Henrys 2 mil and then you add them and it is less then 11 mil

WizardofOzParticipant^^ WHAT? I’ve never seen this trade idea anywhere else. Somebody else might have had the same idea as me, but that doesn’t mean I plagiarized.
