Being completely honest, I don’t know who Wale is.

Wale is actually a pretty huge rapper now, I don’t know how he’s not well-known.. lol

I’m guessing the only people that don’t know him either don’t really listen to Hip-Hop or only listen to 90’s Hip-Hop, not that there’s anything wrong with either.

When did Wale become a “pretty huge rapper”?

But Wale looked like a complete idiot reacting this way. That’s what I would expect an emotional female to do.

Wale is fairly popular around here and I am in the Philly area. If anybody likes rap they know Wale. I don’t like his stuff really but I would consider him well-known in the rap circles. One difference between Wale and Drake is not many white people like Wale.

Wale is pretty much garbage imo and this is just real pathetic. Toronto is Drake’s town (though he is garbage too) and if you can’t take a little criticism, you got some real thin skin to be in the business you are in. I saw video of Wale walking around NY, getting interviewed and he was about to s*** himself b/c there were too many people around. Guess he thought he was about to get f***ed up. He can stand up to a commentator though!

Anyway. I don’t listen to rap at all. And of course I have never heard of him, but I don’t understand why the guy would be mad? He was getting free publicity.

Wale is a very talented hiphop artists who would have been a superstar in the late 90s, but hiphop sucks now. It seems like all of the terrible rappers are the most popular rappers ( example: lil wayne )

I don’t listen to Wale, but I still remember when he dropped “Nike Boots.” That song was a classic to me back in ’08.

Wale is one of the best and most well known Rappers out these days. Love his music and hes a big Wizards and Redskins fan. If you dont know Wale sat with RG3 family at the skins game, and hes also cool with Phil Knight

I didn’t know he was until Matt Devlin mentioned, maybe he should have went up and shook his hand because if weren’t for Devlin he wouldn’t even be getting talked about.
Ps looked up his music and its not very good imo

I personally think Wale is a pretty decent rapper, but for him to throw a lil hissy fit because the Toronto Raptors announcers didn’t know who he was is a little pathetic. Wale walked up like 20 rows just because they said he wasn’t better than Drake. hahaha, rappers these days be getting so sensitive. Like damn, u really expect some 40 year-old white dudes from Toronto to know who u are? Get over urself Wale

the best was when Jay Electronica went on his New Years twitter rampage calling out all the whack emcees, and the ones he jams to. Wale was never mentioned….and the whole time he was crying about it on his twitter thing. “say my name, say my name.”

This guys is the least self assured artist in any game. C’mon Wale, you gotta know as soon as someone mentions something like “He’s no Drake” that the man really is no hip-hop head, and even if he was right, doesn’t no what he was talking about. Wale needs to get over it. Biiiiiaaaaaaaattttch.

I really want someone to ether this guy outta my radio. Nas?

I’m a wale fan he was a very dope MC before he went mainstream to MMG and started talking about money and all that other stuff but he actually has some very good mixtapes, but I was born in the DMV so I may be bias. Its well documented that Wale gets mad easy and let stuff get under his skin. I have read about him getting in very heated verbal arguments with females on the regular.

The DMV is not a place. Either you were born in DC, MD, or VA not all three…..

I’ve noticed whenever rappers get brought up here, there will be a lot hate towards them if they aren’t Nas or Jay-z.

Not sure how old you are but you have to remember, a lot of these guys are 25-35 years old meaning they grew up listening to Nas, Hova, 2Pac, BIG, NWA, Big L, ODB… list goes on. So, naturally, they dislike some of these newer “swag”-type rappers.

Kind of like the same guys that grew up watching Jordan, Bird, Magic. They love the fact that in the 80s and 90s, players didn’t like each other and whatnot. While they dislike the fact that guys like LeBron and Durant are so friendly towards each other.

      Generational differences.
