zolaParticipantI know I’m boring, but the draft is in a few days and I like trade ideas.
This one is based on recent trade rumors.Timberwolves get Tuys Jones and Kyle Anderson (both S&T)
Knicks get D’Angelo Russell and 22nd pick
Sixers get Alec Burks and 29th pick
Grizzlies get 11th and 23rd pick and Kemba Walker and Danny GreenWho say no?

OhCanada-ParticipantI like trade ideas and dont mind discussing them in theory although 4 team trades are extremely rare and difficult for teams to execute which kinda makes it less realistic and hard to comment on. But I’ll go along with it. Everyone loses but Memphis. Also sign and trades can’t happen before the draft and the salaries don’t match.
Even so Russell and Towns are good friends and KAT would definitely think acquiring Tyus Jones is a step backwards. Knicks lose a lottery pick for a player that will have the same struggles as Kemba in Thibs system. Jones and Anderson would have to want to play in Minnesota which would mean Minnesota would have to overpay them.
Just doesn’t work imo.

zolaParticipantKnicks would be the most reluctant for this trade cause they will look for a bigger star and will need 11th pick for that, but it’s not clear can they get one. No matter what Rusell would be the best PG they had in years. Grizzlies can add Warriors 2024 pick to sweeten a deal.
Sixers will search for better deal, but Burks could be nice contributor from bench instead of Green who will miss the season and they would also keep a pick, just little lower.
Jones and Anderson will probably cost 22-25 million anually combined, less than Rusell alone. Jones would be more than twice cheaper, but not that much worse, probably even better fit, cause he is lower usage player and little better defensively. Anderson can play both forward positions and would be upgrade over Vanderbilt and McDaniels.
Jones would be a starter in Minny so there is no reason why he wouldn’t want to play there. I think the market for Anderson won’t be big. I doubt he’ll get more than 10 million per year.

HitsterParticipantMemphis 22 and 29, Denver 21 and 30 what would a straight trade up position be I wonder – the Hawks at 16 might be interested. The Cavs at 14 might not want to drop down so far unless there were two guys they really liked. Hornets have 13th and 15th pick so would unlikely want to have 3 firstt rounders and might even be looking to move up themselves.

NorrinRaddParticipantHere’s a whacky 5 team trade I’d like to see:
SPURS GET: #4, #52
KINGS GET: #9, #20, #45
HORNETS GET: #8, #25
PELICANS GET #13, #15, CASH
LAKERS GET: #41, #47It maybe a lazy one though, I think it could work.
