mgreener_34ParticipantAlot of people are skeptical on drafting Andre Drummond so high, but for me it should be a no brainer for any team looking to add some size. Drummond since his first day at UConn has screamed Derrick Favors to me, and he went third in ’10, and got New Jersey Deron Williams. Also Favors has been playing great lately with double doubles in 4 of his last five games, and his progression gives me hope for Drummond. Really, look how similar they are. This is both their years in college, where might I add, both were on teams with selfish guards, and an already established post pressense.

sheltwon3ParticipantI thought Drummond was taller but I remember mentioning Favors when bring up Drummond but people were saying that they were too different.

FearTheStacheParticipantDrummond is about 6’11". BUt he is big guy. I’ve seen him in person many times. He can also jump like 50 fet in the air

Cosbysweater7ParticipantI know Drummond will probably improve at this, but 29% free throw shooting doesnt exactly turn anyone on (especially if he’s going to get fouled a lot.) Another thing I question is if he has the motor to become a great player.

mgreener_34ParticipantOn the site that we aren’t allowed to talk about man, and I’ve asked players on the team. I remember in the begining of the year he said he was a little over 260, so that might be correct if he lost weight over the course of the year.

DipoTimeParticipantDang that’s crazy that they would have a 19 pound difference. It will be interesting to see everybody’s official measurements that’s for sure. They sometimes make or break a players stock which I think is kinda stupid but that’s reality though

bloodshyParticipantI see several similarities. They’re both very fast, 6’10"ish players with huge wingspans. Like Andre, some people questioned Favors drive when drafted and both players lacked many (if any) go-to moves on offense. Favors is developing into a solid player in his second year with flashes of greatness. Next year I expect him to be a 17ppg 11rpg player.
I value Drummond #2 overall in the draft. He won’t look great as a rookie, but he’ll provide bulk and decent D. By year 3 I think he’ll be an above average starter at 4/5 and his potential is way up there. Like Favors (mentored by Sap and Jefferson), Drummond’s development will be impacted substantially by the coaching and mentoring he receives. I believe Favors would have developed more slowly had he remained in NJ (even if he’d received more minutes). Having Al (a product of size + high skill–very low athleticism) and Sap (high skill, high effort, endless motor–physical limitations) show him the way has been huge. Favors has everything Al and Sap are missing, but he needs people like them to help him develop skill/focus.

MalcolmxParticipantI would rather compare drummond to Deandre Jordan.I think drummond will measure out 7 feet in sneakers.When he was at St.thomas More it was rumored that he was almost 7 feet when he was still 16.Also his winspan should be no shorter that 7’4.5.His hops and speed will be crazy.Listen up drummond just has the tools that you rarely see.You can’t pass on his because if he does turn out to be even just half as good as people expect,all of those GM’s will hang theirselfs.

kobyzParticipantwhich team draft him, the most important and the first thing they should do is to attach him a mental coach, maybe that will give a chance to make out of him somewhat of a player, right now he’s proem to failure in any situation, no metter the talent if you don’t have the mind!!

Why cant teams pass on a dude who reminds you of DeAndre Jordan. Thats a decent player. I would even take Tyson Chandler. I could pass on that too. Need really boost draft stock and that is what kills teams. Its not like we are talking about comparing the guy to Olajuwon or the Admiral. We arent even comparing him to Rick Smits or Brad Dougherty. Its DeAndre jordan. I can pass on a DeAndre Jordan clone

goneParticipantDeandre Jordan really? Has anybody watched him play forreal? His body, hands, and post moves are more advanced right now than Jordan’s and he has been in the NBA for some years now. And why are we all getting on Harrison about needing a pg to be successful but ignore the fact that not one guard on unconn consistanly fed the post….

TheLastWordParticipantDrummond is not 7′, he’s just not. He looked an inch taller than Oriakhi who measured 6’9.25 in shoes.
